On August 16, at approximately 07:30, a local school bus overturned on the Don Tan-Loeng Nok Tha Road near Ban Phu Lom, Ban Bak Subdistrict, Don Tan District, Mukdahan Province.

At the scene responders found the open sided bus, on its side and blocking the road. No other vehicle was found at the scene and the cause of the accident is as of yet unknown.

The school bus was packed full of students, with some thrown onto the road as it skidded and rolled over, while others were bounced around inside the rear compartment.

A total of 28 individuals required medical treatment and were transported to Don Tan Hospital. Thankfully of those only 1 person had to be admitted for further care, while 27 others sustained minor injuries, received the necessary treatment, and were able to be discharged.

Further details about the accident are still under investigation, by the local authorities and police.

Sadly responsible vehicle maintenance and driver competence take a back seat here, even where kids are involved.

It will be interesting to hear what vehicle malfunction caused this as it won't be the drivers fault.

28 kids sardined into the back of a pick-up does not a school bus make.

I don't think that's a pick up, more like a 3 ton truck used a lot here. like this.

Yes, that is certainly an option. Or it could be just poor maintenance and poor driving capabilities.

That is almost certainly the case, however they will never admit that.
