As far as I know a pardon is only for convicted criminals. They are still convicted criminals, now pardoned convicted criminals. So, I guess his daughter still can't hire the criminal, other

  • Completely misleading headline. Taksin has not spent a single day in prison.

  • As long as that conviction was in thailand for thai laws.   Ok my flight to Australia is boarding.... gotta go my suitcase is really heavy.

I had wondered why Thaksin would return to Thailand, considering the legal risks. Now I know.

Likely his cousin Chaiyasit who was ex Supreme Commander of the RTA

Or possibly his brother in law  Somchai Wongsawat whom has also sat in the PM seat for a short stint.

And the amazing healing power of royal pardons is now to be seen. He'll suddenly be in picture perfect health too!

I Think he spent one day just not one night, before taking the helicopter taxi to the hospital!

😁👮‍♂️😂

For me that means: from now on I will only sleep with a knife under my pillow:post-4641-1156694572:

Agreed.

But one key position (which cannot be named) has changed.

The Thai people have also changed over the past decade or so, and the Thai economy is going south.

Although the military leaders may support the status quo, many of the rank and file do not.

Many many Red Shirts are angry at Taksin and the Pheu Thai leaderships' getting into bed with the military who killed so many of their supporters, family members and friends..

Interesting times ahead.

Same was said years ago during the red shirt/yellow shirt face-off.  In the end the following changes occurred: nothing, zilch, nada, rien, nichts, noppes.  Came here long ago and watched the shenanigans of the dinosaurs then.  30 years later the young politicians then have properly aged into 21st century dinosaurs slovenly followed by a meek Thai populace whose brain washed believe in karma and misplaced admiration if not adulation for hi-sos prevents not just any meaningful change but any change, period.  Now where’s my somtam and fried chicken?
