Laos Border Bounce - Overnight Stay Question ( Chong Mek )

Featured Replies

Since the new Visa Exempt rules came into play mid July 24, has anyone completed a Laos border bounce ( especially at Chong Mek )?

If so, did you do the usual Out, turn around and back in to Thailand on the same day?

If so, was anything said about having to stay at least one night in Laos or any additional 'Fee' requested?

I've never heard of any special fees at the Lao border except for possibly "overtime" fees that don't amount too much or unfavorable exchange rates if you pay for the Lao visa in baht. Certainly not for turning around right away.

Chong Mek has always been a friendly little border crossing, and I've seen nothing to suggest that this has changed recently.
