The Pattaya Nightlife Business Operators Association had a meeting on August 26th, 2024 to address issues concerning employee documents, hiring practices, and community engagement. The meeting, which took place at Lisa’s Guesthouse Restaurant, was chaired by the association's President, Lisa Hamilton. Punnipa Flowers, an executive from TPN Media, the parent company of The Pattaya News, was also present.

During the meeting, members were told to heed advice from local authorities and the Banglamung District about maintaining correct employee records in nightlife venues. They were asked to ensure that all employees possessed accurate documents, were above 18 years, and that their ID's were scrutinized before being hired.

Attendees were also warned about foreign organizations aiming to take advantage of nightlife venue operators in different ways.

Furthermore, the importance of renewing operating licenses on time, sticking to legal operating hours, and contributing to community service was emphasized, reported The Pattaya News.

Yeah thought the same thing. But I'm sure all the previous so called bar managers, and the existing bar managers of her Group have been verified, and all had/have the proper WP's and pay tax. So there you have it🫢

I believe that to get a wrk permit to be a bar manager as they call themselves that the minimum wage for a Brit is approximately 50,000 THB per month.

I also believe that prostitution is legal only if it  off premises.

You believe wrong, ALL prostitution is illegal in Thailand, in a bar, brothel or not. See 1996 suppression of prostitution act.

Of course, everything bad is due to foreigners and the Thais are just being taken advantage of.

When will this racism stop!

The market in general is sooooooo dried out that it is literally almost impossible to find non-/low skilled staff willing to work diligently and willing to learn some basics. We sold our business for exactly that reason some 6+ years ago; no shortage of happy customers, suppliers, the works - the only thing we were short of was anything between 5 - 14 staff who would have been willing to actually do some WORK for the above-market salaries we paid.

The sick buffaloes roamed in herds all over Thailand's countryside, grannies passed away between once and three times in the same year, the non-existing brother had an accident and needed immediate family help etc. etc. etc. etc.

At the end we had hired illegals and had to keep them illegal, as the powers-to-be at all those governmental nose-poking offices with lunch breaks, photocopies being signed with exclusively blue ink and by all means not a hint of a smile on passport photographs of 4"x6" .... made it literally impossible to hire aliens, not from outer space but from ASEAN countries. Despite AEC2015 all those Burmese, Cambodians and Laotians could not be hired in Cholburi, as that privilege was granted only to Thai provinces along the borders and Bangkok.

We moved the head office of our restaurant to a letter box in Bangkok and operated the restaurant as a branch. This would have allowed us to hire alien staff but all the paperwork would have had to be done in Bangkok requiring each and every time a (paid) absence of a full working day.

So all this bla bla bla bla of whatever association serves purely to kiss backsides of those absolutely inefficient useless officers - more interested in "cookies", "tips" and contributions to the office's piggy bank. Bigger requests were underlined with "we should have a new fridge at our office".

The result in tourism is evident; the enclosed picture was taken last Friday at the arrival floor of Don MEUAIONG Airport 😉 Your call!

Well why is Mrs Flowers even having a meeting and posing for the press.

Her husband has many YouTube videos describing his business including the way he recruits young women.

wasnt one of his bars recently raided for human trafficking as reported on this site?

Yes lets have the  freelance  bully boy security guards in soi 6  Pattaya and elsewhere documented

They are Thais on legal wages so no problem.

I am suspicious about the foreign “bar managers” whose salaries are so low that they have to flirt with the customers to get a drink which they receive a cut from.

There might be a few of the ladies working in Pattaya who object to this statement.  And a few men, who after adequate testing, may have found this remark inaccurate!

What were you paying them?
Not many are motivated to work hard for peanuts.

18,000 plus shared tip, a free meal, six days working 7 hours a week for the janitor ........ so much to peanuts 😉
