Picture of the collapsed roof.

An incident that occurred in at a house in Village No. 4, Yan Sue Subdistrict, Mueang District, Ang Thong Province, when a 60 year old worker narrowly escaped death after a steel roof structure collapsed on him. The accident happened while the man was dismantling the roof of a house as part of a demolition job.

The man, who had been hired to remove the roof, was caught underneath the heavy steel framework when it unexpectedly gave way. At the time of the incident, he was downstairs next to the house and another worker was using gas torch, to cut the roof steel frame above him.

Despite the severity of the collapse, the worker was fortunate enough to survive, although he sustained significant injuries to his legs.

The worker was promptly rescued from the debris and transported to a nearby hospital, where he is receiving medical care. His current condition is stable, but he is expected to undergo further treatment and rehabilitation.

Local authorities are currently investigating the cause of the collapse.
