Trump Pledges to Restore Free Speech, Labels 'Fake News' a Threat to the Nation

Former President Donald Trump vowed on Saturday to restore free speech in America, claiming that it is currently under threat. Speaking before a crowd of 15,000 supporters at a rally in Mosinee, Wisconsin, Trump arrived in his private jet, dramatically touching down in his Boeing 757, dubbed “Trump Force One.”

“They’ve taken away your free speech, and the fake news threat is a threat to this country,” Trump declared at the Central Wisconsin Airport. His remarks come amidst his ongoing criticism of the media, though he refrained from naming specific journalists or outlets during his speech. His comments closely followed a critical op-ed by New York Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger in the Washington Post, in which Sulzberger accused Trump of aggressively undermining the free press and warned of potential further attacks on media freedoms if Trump is re-elected.

 

Trump argued that the media misrepresents facts, particularly when it comes to conservative politicians. “When you’re a politician, and you happen to be a Republican or somewhat conservative, they write just the opposite of what the facts are,” Trump said. He further contended that Americans who are not directly involved in politics, such as cab drivers, accountants, and lawyers, may not be aware of the media’s inaccuracies. “When we know the facts, and the story gets written the exact opposite of what it is, you start to lose faith in the press,” he added.

 

If re-elected, Trump promised to sign an executive order prohibiting any federal employee from collaborating to limit speech. He also vowed to terminate any federal bureaucrat who has engaged in domestic censorship under the current administration. Trump’s appearance marked his fourth visit to Wisconsin during his campaign but his first trip to the predominantly rural and deeply Republican central region of the battleground state. 

 

During his speech, Trump also took aim at Vice President Kamala Harris, criticizing her for her immigration policies, which he argued have exacerbated a national migrant crisis, contributed to rising crime rates, and imposed heavy financial burdens on taxpayers. Trump and Harris are set to face off in a high-stakes presidential debate on Tuesday, adding to the already tense atmosphere of the campaign.

 

Harris, like Trump, has been a frequent visitor to Wisconsin this year, a key battleground state where four of the last six presidential elections have been decided by narrow margins. With Biden having withdrawn his re-election bid in July, recent polls show Harris and Trump locked in a tight race for Wisconsin’s crucial electoral votes.

 

Democrats are focusing on Wisconsin as a critical “blue wall” state that they need to secure victory. In the 2020 election, Biden won Wisconsin by a slim margin of just under 21,000 votes, while Trump carried the state in 2016 by nearly 23,000 votes. Both parties are aware of the importance of the state, and the outcome of this year’s election could once again hinge on a razor-thin margin.

I still don’t understand how many people really believe anything Trump ever says everything says is a lie. He tells so many lies. He starts believing his own lie. He’s a thief. He made millions dollars going bankrupt or other people suffered. Right now the biggest threat to the nation and the world is a man who is on the decline, is the oldest to ever run for the office, and has some very bizarre ideas about governance, never listens to his advisors, never read the security briefings on a daily basis as president, and always thinks that he knows best. 

 

In my opinion he started to fade in the last year of his presidency. He may have had a minor stroke. Since then, it has been a steady downhill path. Far less coherent than in the past, very hard for him to continue a sentence for more than 15 seconds, alot of rambling, complaining, playing the victim card, and juvenile name calling as usual. Even most of the CEO's he met with a month ago were shocked at how lacking his message was.

 

He is in the beginning stages of severe cognitive decline and it's a horrific thing to watch, he's an increasingly dangerous man and having him as the oldest elected president in history would not be a good thing. He rambles on and on, and it is easy to discern that he has a very hard time maintaining a thought for more than 15 seconds. He is, and has always been the master of slogans, and memes, but the public is just getting tired of the same game, day in and day out. He does not possess the creative juice to adapt, and that is absolutely killing his campaign, at this point. He is headed for the greatest humiliation of his lifetime.

 

He's old, he's tired, he's now the oldest person to ever run for president, he's feels like he's 85 or 90 right now, he seems to be losing interest, he seems to be losing the plot, his message is getting tired, he has no ability to dance on his feet and be creative, and adapt, and he just seems to be disintegrating before our eyes, which is a beautiful thing to watch.

 

And now, he seems to regret his choice of Vance, and seems very stressed out over Harris. Can't blame him for that.

 

He does seem to be imploding. Hoping he loses big, and they lock him up.
