Had a Wave before where they removed to top cover and shaved down the foam inside to make it more comfortable.

Is this the only option for this newer model with such a pronounced ridge?

Yes find a shop to shave the foam down   or go online for the "racing seat" flat like a surfboard  hard as hell on the bum   might as well use a plank of wood 😋

Flat seat looks like total trash but wondering how shaving down that top ridge is ?

Have you done this ?

Yes but on my bike  I had to go the other way and have the shop create a dip and slight bump on the seat  to stop me sliding off every time I braked a bit too hard !

I gave my seat to a guy that formed it according to my wishes and that worked wonders. Extra foam and a new vinyl cower....300 baht!

Bought rectangle shaped gel pad, and put hexagonal air-pillow on top (chinese import). Kinda works, and can remove at any time.

cut it down a little bit on the sides and corners to your liking

You can shift the gel pad under this rubber seatpad to the front or back a little bit. I shift to the front to get more level seat area preventing me from sliding forward.
