Rescue teams are still looking for a person who is said to have jumped from the Rama VII Bridge into the Chao Phraya River in Bangkok. Despite detailed searches, no body has been discovered so far.

This incident was reported at 6.26pm on the previous day, 10th of September, by the Rama 199 Radio Centre. They got the information from the Special Operations and Water Rescue Unit stating that someone fell into the Chao Phraya River near the Rama VII Bridge on Wongsawang Road in the Bang Sue district.

Emergency squads, including the Special Operations and Water Rescue Unit, were sent immediately to the location. By 6.34pm, the Rama 199 Radio Centre confirmed that the rescue teams had reached the scene and were actively looking in the waters around the bridge.

At 6.53pm, the search operation enlarged and began receiving aid from the Royal Thai Navy (RTN) and the Wachira Hospital Medical Rescue Team. Despite solid efforts, the person who reportedly jumped hasn't been found.

“We are maintaining our search and teaming up with different units to cover a wider area,” reported an official from the Water Rescue Unit. He also stressed that they will continue to use all resources until the person is found.

The Rama VII Bridge, which is a major traffic route in Bangkok, stretches over the Chao Phraya River and connects several important districts. Events like this highlight the importance of strong emergency response abilities in such crucial areas.

"We appeal to anyone with information or who may have seen the incident to step forward and help with our investigation," the official added.

Emergency services remain on standby and the hunt carries on under difficult conditions. The strong water currents in the Chao Phraya River are known to make rescue efforts harder. Officials have not yet revealed any details about the identity or the potential motives behind the person’s jump from the bridge.

Currently, the search operation is still active, with teams working non-stop to locate the missing person. The situation is being closely watched and further updates will be given as more details become known.

oh dear Georgealbert .....  this is very sad and tragic event,  I hope they can locate whoever it was.

our thoughts go out to his family in a time of need and heartache.  We can only surmise that the person had insurmountable problems and issues usually brought on by financial, health or relationship breakup that forced him to do this.

very sad indeed.
