Do you need a copy selfie of your self and house number and possibly a google map copy of your residence ?  I was asked 1 month ago but not at Buriram office ......might be handy to have that tucked away with you....

I use Buriram main IO and normally provide the list above, except for the bank statement, which has never been asked for. Which specific office are you talking about? The office near the football ground, or the main office at the top of the hill?

I too use Buriram but for a Marriage Extension. You need a hand drawn map from their office to your house. Do not do selfies of you and your abode. They will not accept selfies.

OP, surprised 12 month bank statement required however seems more immigration offices wanting to see that and not just bank book pages photocopies.

TM6 won't be requested.

At CW I don't supply a TM30 rather just a lease however what you list covers all possibilities..

Also map of where you live.

I use the office near the football ground.

Even though the bank statements weren't specifically requested last year, I didn't want be caught off-guard for any potential issues as I don't live nearby the immigration office.

Good idea.

I did 10 extensions at CW and never required 12 month bank statement.

Last year io demanded one.

Apparently the bank book showed couple of months with zero transactions (activities)

I'm providing statement for next extension

Good plan, pack your folder with copies of every possible IO request you can think of......

Copy of TM6 departure card, no longer required.

You may want to add a map to residence to your list, and a Rental contract.

Cover all possibilities.

At the Kasikorn Thai bank in Hua Hin, I tried to activate my account by depositing 100 baht, but they said that they couldn't accept such a small amount, so I deposited 1,000 baht.

Kasikorn will accept a 100b deposit for savings account.

Would seem you have an FD account. For that account the minimum deposit is 1000 baht

It might be depending of the province. It's needed where I live – Samui Immigration – but we need a lot extra as retirees, we must also pass a hospital health check; I still wonder what happens, if the doctor don't let me pass...:whistling:

Jeez, I thought that old requirement of providing a medical certificate was thrown out by all Immigration offices years ago.
Samui are still living in the dark ages.

From pinned thread 2019 listing requirements

"7. Include an original doctor’s letter from a hospital. Thai Inter provides them in 15 mins @THB 250."

I haven't read and recent reference to need for it..

I recall the requirement for a medical letter years ago.
I used to pick mine up at a clinic, 50 BHT, never saw the doctor.

Then long before Covid my IO handed it back and stated not required any more.

Not seen any recent requirements which including a medical report.
If I recall it was for Elephantiases, Leprosy and a couple of other conditions.

Any other IO's still requesting the medical letter?

It's not that old, it began about a decade ago, so Samui Immigration might live in future ages and other immigration offices will follow... – that has happened to other issues we had to get through with and then it also became part of other immigrations requirements.

It's indeed still valid, this is the 2024 requirements list for extension of stay based on retirement...

Interesting list.  Here in Chiang Rai my list for retirement extension was exactly the same as the OPs list.  This new list for 2024 requires a map and a photo.  I’ll have those things with me when I go in December.

Hi guys, I'm applying for my extension based on retirement soon (this week hopefully). I am using the 12 month deposit method and have 12 months of statements showing at least $65k coming in from abroad every month...as international transfer. Fingers crossed it suffices. Other than that, I'm unsure of what I need from the bank.

Do I need:

1. Passbook updated the day of the application?

2. A credit advice from the bank (done this week)?

3. A letter from the bank saying...hmm, I'm not sure what, that I have an account there?

4. All of the above?

Thanks much!

Which immigration office?

Chiang Mai...thanks Dr.!

I actually stopped by Immi this morning to ask but my god, it was a mad house. For some reason, I expected it to be more tranquil. Maybe on account of the weather. Silly me. I turned around and left without asking anything....too insane and much loss of time.

Chiang Mai.

CM seem to sometimes request TM30 for extensions. Even 12month variety.

Also I note last two extensions at CW a receipt of most recent TM47 receipt was required.

I have a copy of the TM47, that's easy enough. The bank stuff is just silly and repetitious, IMHO. And same info dated same as your application? That's just sometimes impossible. I'll do my best. I'll probably get shot down with the monthly transfers....I'll report back.

1) yes.

2) Credit-Advice for each and every transfer, unless it is coded as "international" in your bank-book.

3) Bank-letter should show you are the owner of the account and current balance.

3b) 12-months statement from the bank, showing the transfers (bank-book may or may not be enough - could be unnecessary, but ...)

4) TM-30 receipt, last 90-Day report, Long-Term Rental-Lease or Condo-Ownership proof.

All assuming your current permitted-stay is from a Non-Imm extension  or Non-O "retirement based" visa entry.

Some offices do nor require #3 to be "same day" - others do.  But, the bank-book update should be done the same-day.

Thanks, Rob. Is there an amount they're looking for as a balance?

As the application would be based on income/transfers, a min-balance should not be a factor.  Maybe they would not even care if the bank-book was updated same-day - but easy and cannot hurt.

Hi all, I received my new extension last week. I will post how I got it in a new thread as to make it more accessible to folks that might need that info.

Cheers, Bam

Thanks to all the information in this thread, I renewed my visa last week without any problem. In the past, I have usually gone in the morning and last year I waited two and a half hours to complete the process. Last week, I left Thap Sakae at 7.30 a.m. but because of heavy traffic I didn't get out of the bank until 11.15, so I had lunch and got to the Office at 12.40. There were only two people ahead of me, but more arrived as opening time approached. There was no system of queuing, but as many of the later arrivals seemed to be German speaking, I thought that it would be quite orderly. I was wrong. When the Officer removed the chain at 1 p.m., they all made a dash for it, and I went from second place to about tenth or twelfth in five seconds. Despite that, I was in and out in half an hour so, if I am still here next year, I will go in the afternoon and keep an eye out for the Germans.
