Recommendations for a laptop
On my fifth ASUS laptop since around 1996. Despite being retired, the previous four were all still working when replaced with a newer model. The latest one is two years old. I only ever needed one warranty repair (new motherboard) that was handled well by ASUS in Bangkok as the laptop was bought in the US and, although having an extended international warranty, the model wasn't marketed in Asia. Took six weeks with a new mobo coming from Taiwan. My office computers all had ASUS mobo's too. However, the new one is a Lenovo ThinkCenter mini which is very good. -

Non-Immigrant O (Spouse/Dependent)
Yes, just stamp. Sorry for wrong information, bit confused with those terms. Bit unfortunate that couldn't obtain it in Laos before they change their policy. But that's okay, think if I knew everything still would go same route. We tried many brunches and almost everywhere said no! Basically saying no and didn't want to look anything after knowing that have stamp. Some listened more but declined as well. Pretty much bad experience and really frustrating. So decided to do with agent. One bank was more willing to help but one thing they could do is to send documents and wait for headquaters to decide (SCB bang chak) -

Cheap drone recommendations
First of all you will need a third party damage insurance and 2 licenses from Thai government offices before you are allowed to use any drone in Thailand. The laws are strict here, if you buy a drone from an authorized dealer here in Thailand you will need to show your passport so that your identity is registered. After that you can start the registration process or you can have serious legal issues. I bought the DJI Neo and I love it. But drones in that price range have limitations. The drone is very light and sensitive to wind movements. There will be an automatic warning about that when flying and it can be blown into the wrong direction and shaking so that it is not possible to film. No memory cards can be used and the in built memory is filled up after a few starts and landings. And battery life is just about 18 minutes and you will find yourself out of battery often. That being said it is advisable to buy the full set with controller and several batteries. But as mentioned I really love the DJI neo if winds are not strong. And you can do short flights without remote by using the phone app instead. Range with the phone app is limited however. -

Second Hand Rolex Watch
I went years relying solely on my phone for time, but recently, I found myself missing the feel of a watch on my wrist. It’s not even about the time; it’s the little sense of style and nostalgia they bring. My dad had this old Calatrava Replica Watches he wore everywhere, and when he passed it down to me, it sparked something. It’s not the real deal, but you wouldn’t know from looking at it—it’s classy, understated, and fits my smaller wrist perfectly. I even had a couple of links taken out, which wasn’t a big deal. Now, I wear it on special occasions or when I want to feel a little more put-together. -

Introduction to Personal Income Tax in Thailand
It's actually not out of date and still relevant until the end of this year. I am advised by my TRD that the new allowances/tax rates for 2024 (already published by Sherrings) will be available on their website the last week of this year, for filing in 2025.
