He'll get a more lenient sentance in the soft touch UK judicial system. Likely be out within two years (if found guilty of course). As for the Thai's informing the UK customs. Two years ago I returned from BKK to LHR. On arrival, my passport would not work at the E-gates. Had to go to a desk agent. Almost immediately, there were two customs officers there. They escorted me to a holding area, I could see an image on their screen that was one of my cases contents. They questioned me as to what I was bringing with me. One officer took me to baggage re-claim where I collected bags and then to the custom area for a full search. I had with me 30 kilos of massage balm (for a friend who owns a massage shop). That was not what they were interested in though warned me about commercial import rules. What they were interested in was the contents of the other case which had the ashes of a deceased aquaintance being brought back for his family. I had all the paperwork. Still took one hour of searching. This shows that Thailand definitely informed the UK to chaeck my bags. The UK customs would neither confirm nor deny that - with a smile.
brianthainess Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 So that's about 3.125 kilo per bag. the UK dogs would be all over it. Idiot thinking he could possible get away with it. 1

ronster Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Why when there are weed growers all over the UK growing high strength weed and why was he not arrested when he checked the bags in , as they tell you to go to an area and wait while scanned and if you don't see your bag after a few minutes you carry on walking. Would have to be pretty blind to look at a scanner and not see what it was the way it's packed , especially in 5 cases all together. 1
Showtime Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 100kg is really chump change as far as cannabis goes.
GoodieAfterDark Posted September 23, 2024 Posted September 23, 2024 Thailand is becoming a copy cat of the West. If someone dreams in finding "love" and tropical paradise to hide, good luck!

He actually would be commended in Thailand as an example farang who helped to boost the nation's exports. Keep in mind that cannabis is legal in Thailand and he was helping the Thai economy by exporting one of their crops! 2

There's around 1200 hectares of hemp grown in the UK currently and this is planned to increase to 80000 hectares by 2032.
JamesPhuket10 Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 An earlier report: He has been remanded in custody for a month until a suitable translator can be found after customs could not understand what he was saying in his native t'Yorkshire accent. 😁 "Sir, we have found 100 kgs of illegal substances in four of your suitcases including those of your children". "Eyup, nay, thems wernt mine, must av been put theeir bah tuther lad, no me, nay not me, thas daft sayin that". ------------- Latest report: After the findings of a t'Yorkshire language to English translator, the police are now searching for a man called, "Werntme", and another one named "Eyup". After the further translation, the translator stated there could be a third suspect called, "Tuther". 2

Your conclusions after a 'quick' look are entirely wrong. Best not to post about something you don't understand. It might be better if you stopped smoking for a bit and tried reading my post. I doubt if anyone on here, even you, knows everything about cannabis and it's transportation, or any other subject on this forum. I quite clearly said that I don't use cannabis so the laws don't effect me. I had a quick look to see what I could find about taking it on international flights. This was because a few people said he wouldn't be stopped from boarding the plane as weed isn't illegal here. I thought that was basically true, from what I knew but I wasn't so sure about taking it onto international flights. Obviously the main concern is in the transit and destination countries, but I wasn't sure about any rules, possibly international, regarding taking it onto international flights and I couldn't really find anything conclusive. Your claim that 'There are no legal restrictions on owning or transporting cannabis within Thailand.' seem to go against what I've read and put in my post regarding THC levels and age limits. I'm sure you will be able to direct myself and everyone else on this forum to information to put me straight. Outside of those limits then you would appear to be correct, which is what I've said myself, so I don't know why you seem to be disagreeing with me so aggressively. From reading many of your posts, you seem to take a rather arrogant attitude to anyone who doesn't agree with you, particularly regarding cannabis in it's many forms. Is this your natural state, or is from what you're smoking. Clearly I wouldn't want to speculate on something I don't understand. Here are a few sites that seem to be run by supporters and users of cannabis that I found helpful. https://cloudninethailand.com/thailands-cannabis-flight-regulations/ https://thaiweedguide.com/can-you-fly-with-weed-in-thailand/ https://www.highthailand.com/cannabis-on-domestic-flights-in-thailand/ https://www.highthailand.com/aot-confirms-cannabis-on-domestic-flight/
Woke to Sounds of Horking Posted September 24, 2024 Posted September 24, 2024 Weed is far from a harmless drug; it's habit forming and melts brain cells, as evidenced by this guy's expert smuggling attempt. Sounds like he's also a wife beater. The poor kids. 1
