This bunch seem quite eager to broaden their tax revenue streams.

The coffers have been emptied by all those that were outed recently.  On top of that, the 10K for vote promises would have been too hard to cover up for votes again next time

around plus all the monies needed to fight the current flooding which is also closing a lot of businesses.  Expats I am sure will get their chance soonest too.  My opinions all!

Unfortunately even if it is decriminalized it will be a job probably reserved for Thais.

So sadly none of us on this forum will be able to get a job making love to sex tourists.

Love??? 🤔 Really??? 🙄

Yeah, I really feel for you, as I understand how disappointed you are to not be able to do your dream work.

This comment was approximately what was expected from you. Totally weird and full of delusional fantasies.

Why be nasty to a fellow poster? It's a beautiful day today! Every day is.

Where are these "underground" businesses?

Places  operating  under the name of  Gentleman’s Clubs, they seem to be springing up all over in Pattaya ,basically brothels, why  do they  operate behind closed doors ?

So the wives don’t see their husbands there.

Well presumably, if Sex Workers have a Tax ID I wonder if they'll be given a 'Job Description' too? That would make a 'fun' reading. Will they have cock, sorry, 'clock in', do shift rota etc.?

Seriously though, would the government actually make sure these workers are taken care of with things like medical care and proper protection? What kind of 'books' are the workers going to keep for income assessment? Or is it just going to be 'give us tax and carry on as usual'.

What prostitution?

According to the authorities there is none whenever they look.

Silly comment.  Prostitution is, and always has been, part of Thai culture and is currently regulated under different pieces of legislation.   Completely decriminalising all aspects of it would be the change.

The Police in Bangkok,  Phuket,  and Pattaya will be very unhappy about this. Many will be thinking, "But, but, how will I fund my wives' shopping trips abroad if I can't extort money from the bars? What about the payments for the family's 3 Mercedes Benzes? How will I pay them? Oh, poor me!"

Yep!

If this goes on, the RTP is going to be super pissed. massive revenue vanished overnight.

They already lost revenue from weed, now this, soon the casinos?

🤣 🤣 🤣

REALLY!!!! Wow! I have live here for 15 years , I thought that it was always legal! Can I ask for a refund  for 15 years of bar fines and money given to ladies because of their sick buffalo in Isan?

Don't worry, bar fines are legal, as is paying for sex in private.  No refunds.

It wasn’t for myself I was referring to.
I am comfortably retired.

It was more for the guys who are struggling and still need to work here for Thai rates and need their wives to work in corner stores selling alcohol to the poor and disabled to make ends meet.

First little MalcolmB, I definitely do not work for Thai rates. My income is in USD and Euro, as I do digital marketing online to international companies as well as heavy in the affiliate business as well as drop shipping. After that, it was my wife´s wish to work after 12 year home with children, so I invested in a shop for her. Very convenient and also one block from home, good location straight on a main road going into the city core.

So, as usual, you got no clue what you are babbling about. However, you have since long time made that par for the course.

Yeah, I know. I was just referring to the meaning of underground related to criminal activities, as the poor poster seemed to have problem with that 😉

Regarding prostitution, we all know that does not exist in Thailand, as they have told us so many times. I would be crazy to not understand that by know. 🤣

I never said that you did.

Why are you telling me all that?

Hope you have a work permit for that. You would hate to have the Labour Department and Immigration problems.
You will get deported and blacklisted if you don’t comply.

Say hello to your boss from Malcolm. I might know him.

Really? Who claimed that? Do you have a link of that it doesn’t exist in Thailand?

I have heard that they have denied that certain areas have been declared brothel (on premises) free.

But never heard any Thai claim that prostitution doesn’t exist in Thailand.

Let´s just say like this. If they can check Walking Street in Pattaya, and confirm no prostitution, do you think that will be confirmed anywhere else?

And once again you understand the post, but you have to turn it and sort out something less important to pick on.

You never said I did, but you just made a choice to use almost the exact words I have posted. You are truly silly.

What boss? All the components regarding work is included in one company formation, we have my wife and 6 more Thais working in different areas, and of course I have a work permit to be able to work in the company that I also lead and are director in. so, I guess that just eliminated your fantasies about Immigration and Labour as well as any blacklist or deportation. I good advice for you, is to just stay retired and don´t engage in things that are out of you capability to understand.
