And you obviously did not realise that he was talking about Thai restaurants here in Thailand, where the majority of them make the mistakes, or do not know or care, about how a meal should be served, to satisfy a non-Thai person, who doesn't give a 5hit about in which order the food comes. In the case which I posted about, it wasn't sending the food back to the kitchen, it was getting the 4ing stuff on the table! -

Is It Enough? Yes, if they can't afford to be somewhere else. That does not mean someone "likes" it though. It just means they are tolerating it. So there will still be complaining. Nobody is going to pretend to like something they don't like. I suppose they could balance the complaints with how it's more affordable, etc, just like you stated. -

I would say.... Chinese, Thai, and Italian cuisine are just about on the same level. Then, probably Indian. Japanese food would be way behind Irish food. -

I haven't seen any bad stuff in Thailand either since it was decriminalized. Now that it's no longer contraband, it doesn't have to be grown sub-par situations where the plants struggle to grow properly. There is even very little of that low-grade Thai brick weed around anymore because people are selling bud weed for such low prices. It is hard to imagine there would even be a market for that really bunk stuff anymore. Those street vendor tables you are talking about are probably just illegal migrant scammers that are trying to fleece the tourists late at night. That is good to hear that there is good stuff over there. Hard to imagine it's cheaper than Thailand though when you can get mid-grade stuff in Thailand for ฿10-฿20 per gram that can get you really high. You may need a bit more of the lower price stuff to get you as high as the higher price stuff. But it is generally 1/10 the cost. So if you're on a budget, it makes a lot more sense. -

It means the equivalent of the toilet, the literal translation is " water room', which is also very similar to the earlier English name for toilet which was, "water closet". (English, not American English) Hence "toilet" is the English term for "Hong Nam" and vice versa. -

It depends on the extent of income involved and also the country of origin and the associated DTA. Some people will pay less, some may pay more, unless they takes steps to mitigate the risk and organise their tax residency and remittances. For example, i appears that remitting funds to Thailand in a year when you are not tax resident here, avoids Thai tax on that remittance. -
