E...Thai men do not usually jump from the Balcony when their steady girl has got a better offer

indeed they normally end up on the roof  methed out of their head, and armed with the machete, with which they have killed their kids

It doesn't matter if it's legal or not, the real question here is why would you want to rent from somebody who has no interest in dealing with you? It's not like there's a shortage of supply here, there are so many apartments available, why not deal with somebody who's got a good attitude?

No point in worrying about the finer details like legalities, What are you going to do , launch an appeal campaign ?    Just remember where you are, accept it for what it is and move on. there is no shortage of alternatives

Back to the OP, things have been a lot harder in Bangkok for us since that fat Brit took a dump in the street and then washed himself in the spirit house pond completely stark naked.

hahahahaha awesome, post a link to that please.

I hear you but I like/love to be in Thailand...

With 100s of thousands of condos for rent, why pick probably the only one you can't have...stop being woke and trying to enforce your f@#ked up western ideologies on  Thailand. Move on

I'm looking to rent a nice condo. I found one but;

"Bangpu Condo ( not accepting foreigners )"

4.5 stars out of Bangpoo, Samut Prakan, Thailand - See map

***** We do not accept foreign customers. ******

Legal information

This property is managed by a private host. EU law relating to professional hosts may not apply here.

Who cares what the EU says about anything.

We have a gold shop in koh phangan that won’t allow Farang in. I always wondered if this was legal. Obviously the owner is stupid but curious if he is breaking any Thai law?

By Kingdom of Thailand law, the majority of a buildings ownership is required to be owned by Thai citizens. So, foreign ownership must be kept at no more than 49%. Knowing this, and knowing of the relatively recent rush of Chinese, Russian, etc. condo purchases I would not suspect any discrimination other than that required by law.

Surely legal.  UK law makes it very difficult to rent to foreigners who cannot prove their immigration status.  Landlords can be prosecuted for renting to illegals.  Maybe in Thailand it's just easier to rent to Thais.

A Thai friend of mine from Florida refuses to rent her Bangkok condo to Thais.

Thailand laws against social discrimination.

When I checked it out with google, I found some information.

Thailand 2007 Constitution - Constitute (constituteproject.org)

While  the system says it does not tolerate discrimination on the ground of gender, race, nationality, age etc.. people may still encounter with the invisible wall(prejudice).

It is seen in many parts of the world(as most of you know).

Not everyone complies  with that what their rule says(until  legally challenged and defeated).

And what you saw could well be one of such cases.

Even though that property own might have had some really  bad experience with the people who are other than Thai national in the past...

Now I want to stay in heart of Bangkok and get to re-live my trip in 1974 or so....

How are you going to do that? Do you think Thailand is same as it was 1974?

You are in for a BIG surprise, dude!

But they are prone to butcher/shoot/stab their girls when they perceive a loss of face due to the lass finding a "superior" male. Jumping from the balcony bloody mess outside, easily mopped up.

Massacre on the premises, mopping insufficient.

They probably reckon that the number of foreigners they could attract is pretty low, not enough to make the administrative overhead worthwhile - TM30 notifications to immigration in particular.

Exactly, this is Thailand, not EU...:whistling:

You might also see signs that specific nationals are not welcome and dual pricing, where foreigners pay double or (much) more. If you wish EU-rules to be enforced, remain staying in EU...
