Seoul Demands Immediate Withdrawal of North Korean Troops from Russia Amid Rising Tensions
If it was Russia, which I highly doubt, the Malaysian PM wouldn’t be so pally with Putin now, would he? -

Any evidence of immigration - More lenient now on multiple Visa Exempts?
I arrived Suvanabhumi early October. As noted by others. most of the IO's are now female. There were two couples in front of me. The woman in the first couple (with a EU passport) had a peculiar stamp in her passport - a black circle with black horizontal bar with some text. The IO noticed this and called for a senior offical. He asked the guy if he had a similar stamp; negative. There was a long discussion with the woman. Apparently this was a 'souvenir stamp' which is not allowed in some countries. Finally they let them through. The couple right in front of me was from Brazil. The IO asked them for a yellow fever certificate. They were unable to show this and were sent back to the health officals (which you pass going from the gate towards immigration, just before you turn into the long corridor in front of the immigration booths). Don't know how this ended. And yes, quite a few people were questioned, and some were required to show some paper/screen shot (onward ticket?). I had a permit to stay based on retirement and a re-entry permit. No questions, just the usual comple fingerprint business. Finished in no time.- 1

Should "Ethnic Minority" be Replaced with "Global Majority"?
Many have not been well educated nor well travelled so I won’t judge them too critically. The same can’t be said for Westerners from “civilised” countries and have travelled halfway across the world to be here. -

Biden calls for Trump to be jailed 14 days out from the election
And yet, Trump was duly elected in the Republican primary vs opposition by several other candidates. Harris is the only POTUS candidate in modern US history to not receive one single primary vote from a citizen voter in a primary election. She dropped out in 2020 before primary voting even started because Democrat voters massively rejected her; and she was installed as the Democrat candidate after the Democrat party coup vs Biden. Anyone worried about democracy, but being okay with the Harris installation is suffering from an affliction known as cognitive dissonance. -

Running a business in the Philippines (bonus: vs. Thailand for those who have experienced both)
I’ve run a business in the Philippines, and while there are similarities to Thailand, there are some key differences. Incorporation is fairly straightforward, but expect some bureaucracy. The process can take time, and you will need to register with several government agencies. Taxes are something to keep an eye on—corporate tax rates are around 25%, and you’ll need to stay on top of tax filing deadlines. Hiring and firing employees isn’t too complicated, but labor laws do tend to favor workers, so be careful about contracts. You don’t need a minimum number of employees to start, and while a local partner isn’t always required, some industries may still have restrictions on foreign ownership. For comparing business environments between Thailand and the Philippines, the Philippines generally has more English-speaking talent, which can make communication easier. However, bureaucracy can sometimes feel slower in the Philippines compared to Thailand. On the tech side, I’ve used Google Cloud Pricing for hosting and found it quite affordable. For example, a small Compute Engine instance starts at $0.0475 per hour, and they offer discounts for sustained use, which helps keep costs down. -

Australian Aged Pension
Yep, if everyone blocks him and never replies to him then thread may actually be useful again to newbies to the OAP. Just remember he posted this: "I'm not on a pension, I'll never be on a pension and I think all pensioners are freeloaders living off my taxes" Why would anyone engage with someone in the pensioner thread who obviously has an agenda of hating pensioners? Meanwhile he's made nearly 1000 posts in this thread -

Does Elon Musk support for Donald Trump rise some Conflict-of-Interest questions?
Yea ... I've compared some of the procedures I've had done here, to cost at Philly, PA, USA area (hometown) and the prices are eye watering Last procedure done, took all of 11 minutes, once prepped, cost $6500 USD here/Hua Hin govt hospital, w/12 hr stay in ICU for observation. Estimate quote for same, at Philly ... $50k-100k USD Simple things like X ray, ultrasound, blood test, colon/endoscopy, EKG are all just silly priced. A full yearly check up here, Xray, blood work, EKG, full abdominal ultrasound, etc, cost ~$300 here, Philly, would be a few $1000 Even when I lived in USA, I never had health insurance, and simply paid out of pocket if having on oops or issue. Never a burden, and simply pocket change. 1 dog was a different story, and more than a few $1000, but had to put her back together with a few pins, plates & screws
