Oh leave him alone ,"Nownow or whatever his posting name(s) are loves to be here rather than sit by himself in a 21sqm box in Pattaya

He is a great man who should of been a Professor

I'd like him to have an appropriate board name like Bubble Boy, he reminds me of that character in Seinfeld

Frustration comes from not accepting 'what is'. 50 is a difficult age, you aren't old but neither are you young and depending on your genetic make-up and life style choices the first harbingers of old age appear, this can come as a shock if you have lived a hedonistic life with little to no introspection. Later when old age sets in you either become bitter and fearful or accept the new era you are in with all its advantages and disadvantages. This should be a time of detachment from unimportant things and spiritual growth, a philosophical approach to your physical decline with humour helps, you are free from the mundane aspects of life.

Many people "don't get" the humour angle, so be careful who you use that with.

I hear ya. NZ is a place I still plan to visit one day. I almost made it last year, but shifted the travel plans elsewhere instead. Are you on the north or south isle?

Hire a camper van and tour the south island. It's far more scenic than the north island. Unless you go on an organised tour the accommodation prices will scare you, so a camper van is the way to go. You need transport anyway as public transport is a very bad joke in NZ.

I had planned to go to the South Island for the reasons you mentioned. My most desired destination was Queenstown, but after doing some more research, it seemed like it would be too remote, with too few options for access to food and accommodations. I didn't really want to do any driving. In fact, I wanted to be in a place where I could mainly walk and maybe rely on a bit of public transport when needed. So in the end, I made a compromise and booked a place in the city center of Christchurch. The cost was less of an issue for me, and I managed to get a really nice serviced apartment booked. What caused me to cancel it at the last moment was the fact that I mainly wanted to be able to go out on a daily basis and just do some walking in nature and be in some lush forest environments. Then I started watching blogs of people on YouTube who went to Christchurch, and I realized that a lot of the scenery there wasn't so scenic, especially the nature parts. To me, it looked a lot like dry, scrub brush, a bit similar to how I remembered Denver when I visited there a number of decades ago. So that's what pulled me back and got me to cancel my plans for that moment. There must be a way to go to the South Island and see some of that beautiful natural beauty and do some amazing walking without having to deal with big transportation problems, but I haven't spent more time yet thinking about it or working out how to approach it in the best way.

I did in the 80s when we still had a train service.

I'd take a train to Invercargill or the west coast, hire a car and drive up to Christchurch by the back roads stopping overnight. Did that 3 times by different routes and wasn't expensive. I went skiing in Queenstown a few times and it wasn't the abomination it has become back then.

You have to get off the plains and into the mountains for the scenery, and you have to have your own transport to do that.

Queenstown is a big tourist town with loads of places to stay and restaurants etc. It's too expensive though.

I didn't really want to do any driving.

Wrong country for that. Sounds like you should go on organised tours with transport included. I don't know if they have tourist vans to get around that go between youth hostels and you book a seat. They had vans like that in Ireland. I suggest you use google to find out, but a camper van is the best option and very popular.

Getting the brain engaged is important. A few hobbies and women won't seem so important.

Maybe try TRT then you may stop moping about

When you have other interests not only will women/men be less important, but you will in fact attract sexual partners easier and more often.

Guys who are chasing and taking stuff like TRT are probably having sex less often then guys who are satisfied with themselves (assuming they are not just using prostitutes). Also, guys who are satisfied with how things are, are probably less prone to experience erection issues as well.

I get an erection throughout the night, is that a problem?

It seems you might have blood flow circulation issues to the area under your belt. How is your cognitive function now? Its all related actually. Do you have any neuro issues?

If I were you I would go and test blood for testosterone, B12, Copper, zinc, Vit D....    too much zinc can deplete copper which isnt good.

I'm almost 79 now, and I know what you mean. However, I didn't start feeling that way until about a year ago.

Are you experiencing erection issues?

Yes, but that's been the case for many years now - maybe as many as 10 years. It's not a problem for me, though. I don't have any sexual arousal thoughts anymore, probably due to a reduction in my testosterone hormone.

That's what I'm thinking as well. My arousal seems to be linked to my physical performance. Other guys like the Op though have a decline in physical performance, but say mentally they are still aroused the same as when they were much younger. I never thought it was linked to testosterone though, but just getting older.

Yes, and I don't see the lack of sexual arousal, both physical and mental, as a problem. The opposite of "arousing" is "calming," and calm is the way I feel most of the time now. This calm also allows me to concentrate on other things I am doing,

I'm nearing 80 but still get aroused, mentally. Unfortunately cancer made a spontaneous erection impossible. Without chemicals nothing happens.

I don't think it has anything to do with testosterone levels. It's more a mental thing.

When you reach that level of misery, is it still possible to fire a bullet at least once you throw your wood on the fire? Or it that not working too?

I can still have a happy ending, as the surgeon did a good job at sparing the relevant nerves. It just makes it a lot more difficult to get there, and it's not anywhere as good as prior, but anything is better than nothing, right?

BTW, I'm not miserable about it. It's just the way it is. If I were miserable about it I'd probably have offed my self by now, but even if I couldn't at all I still wouldn't off myself over it. There are often times that I feel good that I had the surgery to survive. Had I not, I'd be dead a long time now. Cancer was in 2005 and surgeon told me it was about to break out of the prostate which would have really been THE END.

PS first time I was told by a doctor to masturbate. After the op I was told that if I didn't my body would forget how to get there. I was even prescribed Cialis.

I thought it had to do mainly with blood flow and blood pressure in the muscle.

When I get excited it's not just my pole that gets erect, it's actually my whole body. I just see it more in my pole because it's smaller.

People who lift weights say they get erections in their arms, chest etc from lifting.

You ain't seen NOTHING, yet.

Good luck when you hit 100.

Yeah, it's not going to get any better, that's for sure. Start working out now, exercise vigorously, take creatine, change your diet, fast intermittenly, do yoga, tai chi, qi gong, wake up in the morning with a smile on your lips, throw open the curtain and welcome the sun...Then slip on a bar of a soap and you're done for. Tough luck!

As a matter of interest is your name connected to the Australian country  town where no one has a job ?

No, and I'm not an Aussie.

And you, georgie girl do not appear to understand 'tongue-in-cheek' humour.

So, georgie-georgie girl - F.R.O.

(British Royal Navy humour - also understood by the Royal Australian Navy).

Also - 'Flag 8'!

Message me if you wish me to provide you with a translation of  'Flag 8'

Then you can feel like one!

I can only say what happened in my case. For more, consult a knowledgeable source.
