The shrieky VP's elocution and intonation really grates.

I totally tune out when she starts slowing.. down... her.... speech..... when..... she....... thinks........ she............. needs............... to......................... make....................... a.................................. nother word salad point

I agree. Her speeches can be hard to listen to. She's not a particularly good orator. I can't decide if I prefer actual word salad all the time though.

The point is that she sounds such a phony.   Of course,  she can speak however  she wants, but I think a lot of people are put off by her being so blatantly fake.

Farangs in Thailand do it also.

Speak Thailish, which is sort of English words using Thai grammar rules, with a few thai words thrown in, it varies speaker to speaker.
Boom boom, mao, electric, papaya bok bok.

Throw in a few half hearted wais for extra effect.

Been here a lot longer than two months.

I find that hand gestures and pulling faces also adds to the Thailish experience.

If not understood the first time, repeat in a louder voice.

Then crack it when they don’t understand and complain that Thais are stupid.
