Should I still do my 90 day report if I'm leaving Thailand 2 days after it is due?

My 90 day is due on 12 November and I'm leaving Thailand on 14 November.

Is it necessary to do the 90 day reporting before my flight on the 14th if I'm only 2 days late? If I don't do the 90 day reporting, could they fine me 2000 Baht at the airport?

If there is a low risk of fine, I'd rather not waste 1/2 a day at Chaeng Wattana doing the 90 day report.

As I understand it you're allowed to file a 90 day report up to 7 days late without a fine, so leaving the country 2 days late will be no problem and no fine

When this happens to me I never do it, in fact I won't bother even if it goes beyond the 7 days 'limit'

When you are leaving, the IO will not check whether you have done your 90-day report or not. Don't worry, I have done it before, same situation.

It's long been the case that the airport IO doesn't have any interest in 90-day reports being either late or delinquent. However, I vaguely recall from a few years back that some people reported that they were fined at (I think) Jomtien for skipping the 90-day report filing under the same circumstances as the OP, ie. leaving the country without filing a few days after it was due. When they turned up to do the first 90-day report after they returned, the IO picked it up in their computer, and they were fined. Could have been a one-off, IO having a 'bad hair day' sort of event.

Did they return on a new visa?

It would have been enter with reentry permit and subsequently doing a 90 day report.

IO picking up on missing report.

Possible however unlikely.

The grace period is for making a report in person, there is no grace period for leaving the country.

 

As has been said, just skip it and hope it does not get noticed at your next check in, if it does, then a swift 2k fine will follow.

I would personally just do it, since you are 8 days before leaving, but to each their own. For me its about a 1-hour round trip to Nonthaburi Immigration, usually quick in and out . Is CW that backed up, that it takes "1/2 a day" to do a 90-day?

When  I first returned to the US I was told at Immagrtion my 90 day report has to be a week old to have a return entry re-entry  approved. 2016

So was Nonthaburi today (did my 90-Day report), they had what looked like 3-4 large groups (Japanese) there, so about double the wait today. Oh well, usually its fairly quick, I picked a bad day today 😉 I got to remember to try and time my visits closer towards the middle of the month.

It does.  Enter passport # and nationality and click on the magnifying glass symbol.
