One theory is that Trump reminds losers / incels /  self proclaimed 'victim' of someone who laughed at them at school.  He represents 'that guy' to them. 

Maybe he reminds women of 'that guy' that pumped and dumped them.

 

Trump is a very flawed guy and likely compromised - I'm also SURE he'll disappoint - but he was STILL better than the alternative.
