My pleasure, your denial of the facts is amusing

From the article you posted:

"The Court said tax exemption is a subsidy, just not a cash subsidy. "

The big graphic at the top of the article is:

Subsidies: Definition, How They Work, Pros and Cons

This is the article which supposedly makes you right and me wrong. Well, in your head at least.

I read it. All. Now what is the point of argument. What difference does it make ? The parents now have to pay it. Something they cannot afford.

But that was your argument, or at least the argument of Nick Carter icp - that exemptions are not subsidies. But then you backed it up with an article that agreed that they are, cherry picking from it one small section as if it was the definitive conclusion of the article. Spoiler - it isn't.

So when you are moved 3 or 400 miles away do you still want to send your child to the same school they are already at, or move to a new school close to where you now live?

Have you NO idea how the real world works?

So everyone in the military who is serving outside of their home country has their whole family with them?

You obviously have no idea of what it's like in the forces. No one that isn't in it has any idea of what it's like, and that includes people joining up.

I usually respect what you have to say, but you are wrong on this.

People know they could be moved all over the country, probably the world.  Anyone who thinks that working in the armed forces is a local job you do in your home town should not be serving.

Are you OK with sending billions of quid to Ukraine? If you are, why do you begrudge military families a fraction of that to send their kids to boarding school for a stable life?

If the UK stopped throwing money into the Ukraine black hole they would not need to penalise people to get a few million extra in tax.

How many of the schools that the public are paying for are actually boarding schools?  Why do they need to stay in boarding schools?

Funny many have the  vision that those in private education are Tarquin/Peregrine and privileged........my Mother of course took 2  extra  jobs one as  a barmaid at St Johns Hotel Solihull hours were 7pm-12 am the other was weekend cleaner for various "privileged" households as well as her  full time  job as medical records  officer at Monyhull hospital Birmingham..............on top- of that she had a  handicapped son my Brother to bring up who now lives in a Mencap home in Birmingham. He stayed at home until he was 30.

To send me to a private school in Acocks  Green Birmingham.

They couldnt afford their first house utnil they were 36 and lived with my Grandmother in a terrace in Hall Green for 12  years after getting married.

And to the other whiner going on about people who didn't have holidays to send their kids to school along with a whole host of other things, good for them.

This all at a  time whe the "common man" smoke and drank his  way through life, which neither of them did.

I don’t hold the view that those in private education are all Tarquin/Peregrine and Privileged, nor do I hold the view that the ‘common man’ who does not send his children to private school ‘smoke and drink their way through life’.

I know you know nut this whole notion of 'serving' is just nonsense.

Esp. as they don't actually serve the taxpayers who ultimately fund them

More 'swerving' than 'serving' imho

It's just a job for an industry - with a big pension.

Not sure we should be subsidising private schools or classifying them as charities and and, if the 'armed forces' really do have a retention problem (unlikely as there's one born every minute), then they should pay the full whack for schooling like everyone else.

Apparently they're 'only' £10,000 per round but still...

As a socialist you'll probably have worked this out but in case not...

People who 'serve' in this system are NOT on your side.

The DOUBLE CROSS SYSTEM, yes… The Forever War

The Endless Dialectic

The Continuous Conflict

The First and Oldest GAME in Existence.

X versus X, X wins,

Start Again… over and over forever in time.

& the common man foots the bill!

Very disrespectful, as well as ignorant. Pig.

Expalin the answer then war pig:

What's the point of UK taxpayers funding the armed forces if they can't even stop 10s of thousands of foreign Orcs invading every week on dinghys?

Just kill brown people cos some American politicians say so - is that the whole point or WHAT???

WHAT ARE WE PAYING YOU FOR???

What an ignorant claim. Just shows how little you know on the subject. There are plenty of Council run boarding and residential schools in the UK, some main stream and some for special educational needs. However their quality of overall 24 hour care can be lacking and the councils have relied more on the private sector to provide some excellent ones. OFSTED and other regulators report on them. I would check facts before coming out with such misinformation and false claims about them being organized child cruelty.

There aren't plenty and there is still a fee, at about 1/2 the average private school rate.

Talk to your government - that is who collects the taxes and divvies out same. The UK military, although now small in size (after round after round of spending cuts), is still necessary for defence, especially guarding our nuclear deterrent. It is easily capable of stopping a few small boats...but only if it is ordered to do so. You moan about thousands of foreign "Orcs" but you seem happy to leave the UK completely defenceless.

Stop trying to put our soldiers (and veterans) down. Why don't you write to the PM and complain to him?
