Trump Moves Forward with Hardline Immigration Strategy

I can't understand the Leftie angst about immigration.

For some reason virtually all Far Left Progressive want illegal immigrant into their countries.  And yet those same people will defend Thailand to the death over their Machiavellian immigration laws.  So I'm really confused when the US brings in Homan who is the equivalent of Thailand's Big Joke, and then they start screaming, "Racism" and "Immigrant Hatred."  It is hypocritical.
All that most conservatives want is an America First policy that allows Legal Immigration where those who arrive in the country are not handed welfare cards and free rent while American citizens are sleeping rough on the street - and no - not every person on the street is a drug addict.  With your average starter home somewhere in the $400K range and a studio apartment costs $2000/mo - there is a real problem with housing in the US.  If immigrants come into the US, they should be screened to make sure that they can live on the economy without government assistance while Americans who have lived on the US all their lives are struggling badly.  You know - exactly like here in Thailand.
And yeah - I've listened to Homan and I support his approach.  It's past time to get serious about the broken US border. The US needs to repair the social safety net for US born citizens before they even consider to assist so-called "refugees."

Patience grasshopper.

If you want to see what will happen in the UK in 4 years, we only have to look at what happened on November 5th in America.

Stupid, Liberal, spiteful, anti-patriotic governments do not last long. Especially when elected by only 20% of the electorate. Labour are toast. The only question is how much damage they can do in the next 4 years.

I think you've got some bad news coming to you on Social Security.

It will arrive while you are being distracted on immigration.

First of all they're not immigrants if they're in the US illegally. At best they're migrants, illegal alien is proper term. Even the migrants already here don't like the influx of illegals or "asylum seekers"

To know look to NZ under that woman PM recently. She was all the above and she did immense damage to the country, while she was in charge. Her vile legacy will live on for decades if not forever.

No bill was needed to fund the increase in border control agents? Really? Do you know anything about government?

In the debate between Biden and Trump 2020 Biden invited asylum seekers to come on up. His rhetoric was a reason for the massive influx of people crossing border. Then biden reversed trump's stay in Mexico for asylum hearings among other key policies directed at stopping the illegals.

Deport the illegal immigrant and the family can follow to where the illegal immigrant came from if they want to.  The American passport is quite good so they should be able to get into the country the illegal immigrant is from (legally) without too much trouble.

Or alternatively, illegal immigrant leaves voluntarily now and then applies to enter the US via a legal route.   I do think Trump should announce that any illegal immigrant who leaves voluntarily before January 20th will have a chance to apply for a legal route and enter the US properly, and anyone who doesn't leave before that date will have zero chance at getting approved if the US has to forcibly deport them.

The trouble is the incoming guy's agenda is far too extreme and will show to be downright cruel - AGAIN.  Should the Biden administration have done more? Absolutely! This whole damned thing boils down to BOTH sides refusing to make common sense laws cuz it wins too many votes. All that is needed is real border security (enforced!) and an easy to obtain worker visa. Until humane policies are put in place, this football will be kicked back and forth with legit migrant workers, their families, and agriculture caught in the middle.

Calm down comrade, he is only doing what Obama did. Obama deported millions of illegals, 412k in 2012 alone, Biden/Harris let them all back in! Trump has the people's mandate to sort this out and deport illegals making America safer and fairer. Cruelty would be letting them stay. Nations are not nations without borders.

I do kind of understand where the cultists are coming from when they whine about illegal immigration, because I understand the whiners are probably under performers in their own lands, but think they are "self-made".

We all are where we are and what we are merely through an accident of birth. One person is born female in a poorly developed, corrupt and economically disadvantaged land, that happens to have national borders. If he or she had been asked beforehand, she would have said "Please let me materialize as a male in a G7 country, because then I can ride the coattails of people probably superior to me and find gainful employment, make some money, and even have the chance to get a retirement visa in Thailand, because Thailand would view me as a 'quality' person".

Similarly, most members of the Cult 47 would probably have preferred to be born better than they were...with an above average IQ, a better physique, not prone to obesity, perhaps having the discipline and personal drive to avoid becoming obese or an unskilled worker obviated by the modern tech economy. Certainly the POTUS-elect knows how to appeal to those who wish they were born better, even though they were whelped in a land of opportunity.

I guess the liberal in me more easily feels compassion for the young woman who materialized in a poor, misogynistic, dangerous nation....and must literally fight for her life and safety, plus get some luck along the way, just to survive unscathed into adulthood. I naturally feel more compassion for her than the male born in a G7  nation who goofed off in school, never amounted to much of anything, but through that sheer accident of birth can  live a comfortable life, bark about  immigrants---legal or illegal---ruining his culture, and then do all his whining while enjoying life in a distant land like Thailand, where he stands out both from appearance and behavior.

Few of us are "self-made", though most of us like to think we are and end up where we are because of our great skill and discipline. That's a delusion. I admit I was born lucky...as a mostly white male in a major developed nation, of highly intelligent parents of above average height, who were also quite athletic. Through my own accident of birth, I kind of naturally drifted to tops in my class, a multi-sport star, recruited to the best universities in the world, easily able to find interesting employment opportunities, with natural financial skills, all allowing me to become a multi-millionaire before age 30, and just grow my wealth from there. I know the data, so it is fair for me to guess I am not only more intelligent than most everyone on this site, but with the exception of maybe Danderman, the wealthiest by far, a multi-billionaire (at least in baht). Did I deserve any of this? Does it make me better than all of you? Hardly. Just dumb luck and a win in the Birth Lottery. At least I admit it is mostly dumb luck.

The understanding of my own dumb luck in regards to the time, place and manner I materialized in this Universe has given me a similar understanding of the trials and tribulations of folks born less lucky...whether a female in a savage land or a below average sycophant of 45/47 in a land where failure is almost an impossibility---yet so many of his cult are failures.

Now all of the above does not put me in favor of unfettered immigration; it just allows me to have a little more compassion. For example, a person who was dragged into the US as an infant or young child by an illegal migrant, but a child who has grown up in the only land they really ever knew, and who is a contributing, tax paying member of US society, ought to be given special consideration when deciding what happens in 45/47's draconian deportation scheme. Such people were given the name "Dreamers" under a previous Administration, but under 45/47, all they will get is a nightmare---forced out to a land they never knew.

I see many here applauding this deportation scheme, usually tossing in the straw man argument of "rapists and murderers", ignoring the reality that even illegal migrants commit far less violent crime than native born citizens. I doubt many illegals stormed the Capitol on 6 January 2021, but those terrorists are going to be pardoned by the POTUS elect---even the ones who shat on the Capitol floor and rubbed their own feces on the wall, as well as those who used American flags to beat law enforcement officers. Dreamers, OTOH, are being shown the door.

So all of you cultists can continue to cheer these actions and pat yourself on the back for all of your 'great achievements' in life, ignoring the reality that few of you achieved anything on your own, and are merely lucky to have been born where better people than you set the table for your cushy life, whether you're still at home or enjoying your dumb luck by being able to reside in an alien culture far away, probably irritating a good many of the native born Thai people merely by your presence.

There is, or should be, a middle road. Nobody can correct for the inherent unfairness of the Universe, but a little compassion and understanding can go a long way. Maybe part of that middle road is letting Dreamers remain, and also bolstering the system that hears petitions for asylum (which is not part of the deportation plan and border enhancement plan). Even illegal immigration has been a net benefit to the US, and migrants have been the lifeblood of the US for generations (consider Musk, Jobs---born of a Syrian dad, Grove, and half the CEOs of hi tech).

Then again, all of you can just say kick the (insert a racist epithet of your choosing here) out, and let all of you enjoy what you think you deserve, forgetting you are merely the recipient of dumb luck in an unfair and random Universe.

Tell that to those who are putting their money where their mouth is. Link to 90 trillion from a credible source?

"The commission found that reimagining how that $90 trillion is spent, and topping it up with an extra $270 billion per year, would be enough to get the planet on track to meet the internationally agreed-upon goal of capping warming at 3.6°F — while boosting global economies. Those extra capital costs “would largely be offset” by reduced operating costs associated with such things as reduced fuel costs and energy efficiency savings, the report says"

Oh, I thought you implied that the US taxpayers were on the hook for that amount. You never fessed up and still haven't. Of course transitioning from a fossil fuel based economy to renewables should be free.

so going by your rhetoric when people are born to poor parents they have the right to steal from rich people because its not their fault they were not born to rich parents and they need to be able to live like rich people. You are trying to make an absolute crazy claim  but expected from the left, no one has any rights granted to them for being born in various countries, what they do have is the right tom try to improve their lot in life as long as it is done legally. Becoming an illegal immigrant is not included in this otherwise we would see countries all around the world being taken over  which we have seen happening until the countries concerned put a stop to it.

Every country has a right to defend its borders to protect its citizens especially when the ones coming in illegally are responsible for a lot of the crime committed as well as a lot of unsavoury things happening on the streets. For the left trying to tug on peoples heart strings to push their BS such as what you have sprooked is common and part of their play book but it doesnt hold water, you want to emmigrate then do it legally.

So, going by your rhetoric, rich people have a right to use their wealth to buy up bank repossessed mortgages, thereby transferring wealth even faster from the poor to the rich.

Your source for 90 trillion? When a figure seems outrageous, it might just be false.

Especially in light of Biden's budget that provides $11 billion commitment for international climate finance, including $3 billion for the President's Emergency Plan for Adaptation and Resilience.

Why worry about whatever you allege the cost for climate change for the US? Trump considers climate change to be fake propaganda.

Them Mexican women who work as servants or house-keepers for rich Americans in Texas.  Are they going to be deported back to Mexico ?  What about the ones working without a permit, picking fruit and vegetables ?  And then there's them Mexican or Latin women who are sex workers in Houston and Dallas/Fort Worth.

Are any illegals going to be removed ? I really doubt any moves to stop the new illegals entering. And I don't think Texas will deport that many undocumented immigrants or those who entered illegally.  These people are far too useful for America's economy.  I'd rather make all the illegals legitimate, but that's just my view, it will never happen.  🙂

The News services the Dems control will begin having a field day once the deportation begins. I am most certain the only thing you will see in their news is the bad and heart wrenching stories of families separated because one was legal and the other was illegal in the household. Or some other B.S. excuse to make people feel Trump is doing bad.

Why should people that don't believe in the scam have to pay for it?

Let those that believe in MMCC give their money to other countries to waste, and leave the rest of us alone.
