One more baseless assertion. Who  in the left, is claiming big pharma are pure as the driven snow? You are making it up! 😀

NB It's not the left which blocked a cap of $35 on insulin (it's $12 in Canada), it's the GOP.

The $35 cap on a single medication was just a gimmick.

David Andeman. Do you have proof or is it just one more baseless assertion?

Is he representing "the left", now? 😀

I asked AI:

https://www.perplexity.ai/search/why-is-medication-a-lot-more-e-FGUn.GNjSOSFF0B.N6Fhag#0

I use this AI because it shows all the sources where the information come from. They are listed in above link.

"In summary, the combination of unregulated pricing, a fragmented healthcare system, profit-driven motives of pharmaceutical companies, the influence of PBMs, and strategic legal maneuvers all contribute to the significantly higher costs of medications in the United States compared to other countries."

100% agree Mr AI.  I only wonder what is the "main" reason for the 7-10x price difference compared to some European countries.

A fact addition to the discussion.

The global insulin market is dominated by three firms: Novo Nordisk, Elie Lily and Sanofi, and it's also the case in the U.S. The same brands are sold at different prices in the U.S. and elsewhere.

On top of it, the leader Novo Nordisk is Danish, and the third one, Sanofi, is French.

Remember, historically it has always been the left that was skeptical of big pharma, and the military industirial machine, but now that the left has taken them over, they're pure as the driven snow.

Big Pharma gives money to both parties. They juice both democrats and republicans, That said they have always given more  money to Republicans. FACT. Republicans in tune have helped them more than the Dems ever have . Exactly the same with military industries. They have always given more money to Republicans than dems. NOTE - both Musk and Trump recently shilling for Boeing, blaming problems on DEI. Boeing has been digging there own grave for 22 years before DEI existed.

'Taken over by the left' is pure fake news spew so popular with MAGA. Shout it loud and constantly, drown out any discussion, that's the right wings game plan for decades now.

Historically given more to Republicans, but I think that has changed in the last ten years.

This not accurate.  Historically they have given more to Republicans but that has flipped drastically since 2020 and Covid.  Democrats now receive the bulk of the money.  Hence the push by democrats to push drugs on the American public.  Not saying that Republicans wouldn't do the same but stating the facts 🙂

This is a bad thing?  That is the problem with some democrats. Individuals should be held accountable for their actions.  99% of obese people should not be supported financially with tax dollars for hospital visits or insulin.  They should pay for their choices with their own money in higher insurance premiums or cash out of pocket.

Why is this so hard for some to understand.

Kind of misses the point, surely? Which was that many people have voted for a Government that might do great harm to something that it’s important to them. It was one example of many, to make a point.

I only see Yellowtail's comments when someone replied because he is on my ignore list.

Seeing some of his comments like this it only confirms that it was a good idea to put him on that list.

A tepid response, as likely you know the answer. It has not changed in the last ten years. Big Pharma just like the Military industrial complex as people like to call it, gives more money to Republicans than Democrats both historically and in the last ten years.

I have to hand it to the Republican right wingers. They understand in todays new media world, all you have to do is yell it loud and keep chanting it, with FOX media as a backup, people assume it is real. That is another affect of the Internet and crushing of older news sources. For many people there is no way they can easily vet what they are getting and so it becomes 'true' by default. Just living a lie, and what fun, until something bad comes there way.

Please tell me again why it is a good idea to vote for a narcistic serial liar convicted criminal?

If you like the GOP politics, why not vote for someone who is not a convicted criminal?

It is stupid to vote for a criminal serial liar to lead a country. That is obvious to most of us.

"most of us"?  "most of us" voted for him to be 47

,You do NOT speak for "most of us" and the convictions are partisan political hatchet jobs that "most of us" can see through.

Most of us in the rest of the world.

I know that the American President is elected by the Amercian people - which makes sense.

But whoever has that job has so much influence for the rest of the word. And in case you missed it, have a look at the press reaction in the rest of the world about your elected serial liar convicted criminal.

I’ll give you his telephone number and you can call him if you like. He’ll tell you

How is it you are qualified to speak for the rest of the world?

Are things better in the east if the world now, or when Trump was in office.

Do you have two forum IDs? 😀

That was a reply to Yelowtail's post,

Anyway, whoever made this baseless claim, no evidence was provided, as usual.
