Donny is entitled to his opinion, just like any other US national. The bigger issue though is how this  individual has any position with which to push his opinions. The man is not duly elected by anyone, nor has he been appointed to any government position and been subject to congressional scrutiny. And yet, here he is with access to confidential information offering his  opinions as if he has some sort of official role on behalf of the USA.

In what screwed up dictatorship world does a father have unqualified family members given the authority or position to do such things? If the man wishes to speak on behalf of the US government, fine, then let him be vetted by the appropriate authority.

Yes.

I agree.

He reminds me just too much of....

Hillary Clinton when she was in the White House.

Actually....

NOT dumb....at all.

Noam has been saying, fundamentally, the same thing....

For years.

If you do not understand, then ....

How can you NOT understand?

It's all about probability.

You HAVE had at least one year of advanced uni statistics....

Have you not?

Probably better to explain it than attack somebody for not understanding.

I care not who sits in the president's chair at la maison-blanche nor who sups at its dinner table or reclines in the beds.  I care not who sends what missiles to whom.  All I knows is that war is money and bizness is good, and my investment portfolio is ticking upwards nicely amidst all this WW3 talk. Let's keep it up folks.

Too soon.

More likely after 8 years of JD Vance.

Another stupid comment. Saying the war is going Putin's way in your tiny brained opinion means the person saying this must be a Putin supporter. Completely deranged way to look at things. Huge casualties are been taken on both sides. Fact. Russia is winning the protracted attritional war evidenced by ground captured. Fact. Russia has more troops than Ukraine. Fact. ATACMS will make little difference. Fact. What part of this comment suggests any support for one side or the other?

😂.............You carry on, you could get a gift hammer and sickle flag from your hero.........😂

A gain of a 100.000 km2 in over two and a half years. I'm not sure that's correct. In the Donbas region the gain is having pushed the line about 30 kms to the West. That's not really impressive, is it. And please take into account the region of Kursk, lost to the Ukrainians.

And consider the 100.000 to 200.000 Russian soldiers lost, the thousands of tanks and artillery pieces, the Black Sea naval fleet decimated, etc etc. North Korean soldiers needed. And for what. In over two and a half years.

Not exactly impressive. More a sign of the rampant corruption and incompetence in the Russian army.

That doesn't mean they can't win of course. And, win what? What was the goal?

I did say greater than. It's more like 111,000km2. Go look at some war maps. This is now a war of often metres taken and metres lost now. The greatest gains from Russian came from their initial push 2022. The 110,000 doesn't include Crimea. The Black sea naval fleet wasn't decimated, sure their were some very high value assets sunk, but the reality is they moved the fleet. They had to because of the sea drones. Very effective weapons. North Korean soldiers needed? Don't think so. There's only an estimated 10k of them. As for troop losses as I have said it's a protracted war of attrition and the numbers are on Putin's side. This is just a fact. As for the Kursk Oblast Ukraine occupies around 500kmbut there too there is ebb and flow of territory held by one side or the other.

The whole problem with this war is the west is afraid of making the russians angry,

Det blockade doesn't work

The Ukraines are not allowed to repay Russia with the same violence the Russians execute in Ukraine, where they are restricted to minor revenge attacks given green light by the westerns who give them weapons.

I tend to agree this war should never have started, knowing Putin and russias will to continue this war if you look back on other wars they had, or intervened like in Georgia. So many lives could have been spared for å little piece of land, and a bit of structural changes in the Ukraine government, but at once they said a, b was a long delay, and also c d and the whole alphabet which was necessary to win this war from the beginning. But again, Ukraine is still Ukraine, with many internal issues, and there are no good solutions here at all. Now we have to wait for Donald to make a few phone calls, and agree with the bad timing of first giving the green light for missiles now, and not before.

Ok, a war of attrition. A very long war of attrition. I get that, I got it already.

The whole Donbas region is about 53.000 km2. So your arithmetic seems to be way off. Don't include Crimes, don't include the Donbas as illegally occupied since 2014. Only the gains since February 2022.

Not that it matters.

My question again: for what?

If you don't know the answer, please let us know.

Nope, it's not and never was about metres. It's about tens of thousands of civilians slaughtered by the war criminal Putin. Stop trivializing the war.

Who's trivializing war. As I have repeatedly said this is a protracted war of attrition. Civilians are being killed as are troops. This happens in wars like it or not. What you continue to avoid is that all these lives lost could have been spared. It was obvious what Putin was up to in 2022 and there's no way the US did not know.

I suspect he isn't capable of making that decision on his own, so IMO it's the guy(s) behind the curtain that are guilty of trying to start WW3, or perhaps they just bought a load of shares in the company making the things. Cashing in before it ends.

True.

Goodness knows who is running the US right now but it sure isn't him. He can hardly string a sentence together.

The usual revisionist drivel. Putin wanted to join NATO in 2000/2001, remember?

Finland has now joined NATO, will the invincible Putin invade Finland next?

Have you ever heard of Kaliningrad?

No worries if Trump or Putin invades Finland.

Linus Torvalds has left that room.

He is now in California.

So, our Linux Kernel is safe!

You say revisionist as if what I wrote is not true.

Putin wanted to join NATO showing that after the dissolution of the Warsaw Pact that NATO should evolve into a type of EU where armed forces could reduce lowering tension

Worked with Ukrainians and Russians when working offshore, not much between them, the problem is money and power.

The ordinary guys like those guys I worked with never really get the spoils, but, are expected to shed their blood so the instigators get their spoils.

2nd Iraq war and the fall of Saddam, who benefitted, not the average Iraqi or the region, who benefitted.

Libya and the deposing of Gaddafi did his removal usher in stability for the region and prosperity, who benefitted.

Departure from Afghanistan following the loss of thousands of sons and fathers, when Russia left the regime they left lasted 8 years........  The Biden installed regime were it 8 hours or minutes.  Who benefitted.

Any country that joins NATO has to standardise their armed forces with NATO compatible equipment.  Who benefits??
