He's not very successful so far. But if he succeeds in Ukraine, next will be Moldova / Transnistria.

Did ur buddy vlad tell you this or are you perhaps spouting nonsensical hyperbole? How stupid u think putin really is, like your mush brained now lame duck Biden?

Just stop listening to Putin and also his western useful (fill in the blank) who repeat his endless lies and fall for his completely transparent nuclear bluffs.  Some of the western repeaters are just ill informed and others are explicitly trying to help Putin win and Ukraine lose. Unfortunately, the majority of the maga/Trump cult fall into the later horrible category. World War 3? Caving to Putin is the move that makes it more likely emboldening him for further actions and also China.

Defining who is winning is open to various interpretations.

Yes they have taken 100,000km2 of territory. Most of whose cities  are evacuated, infrastructure rubbled and farmlands laid waste.

They have Crimea - perhaps the original "Causus Belli" - Sevastopol as a base for their Black Sea Fleet; but much of that Black Sea Fleet is at the bottom of the Black Sea. The peninsulas communications are dependent on one bridge, which Ukraine has demonstrated it can cut when it wants. The much vaunted Russian Army, touted as superior to NATO and almost on a par with the US is trashed, and they have paid an enormous price in casualties, ever more difficult to replace. They failed to contain the Ukrainian move into Kirsk, and are relying on hiring in troops from North Korea to defend Mother Russia! Their economy is boogered.

Ukraine, battered, is still standing, still fighting and still hurting Russia, and shows no sign of failing. Ukraine's closest political and geographical allies, are showing greatly increased determination to stand up to Russia, are doing so through the auspices of a somewhat reinvigorated NATO alliance, which is waking up to the fact that it is probably going to have to manage without the US.

The US military may well rapidly lose potency under the inspired leadership of a Fox News presenter, and with large swathes of it's command structure possibly facing dismissal or Courts Martial! Certainly no-one is going to rely on them!

So when you are considering winning and losing, you need to consider more than battle maps.

I'd say you're right, but where is that claim of 100.000 km2 coming from? Since February 2022 of course.

that point on the top of your head is growing...

Your messiah Biden and those controlling the decomposing mess of his rotten brain are more concerned about the grift and keeping it alive, funding the war machine rather than stopping the war, engaging in peace talks to end the carnage and saving lives. Why else do they refuse peace talks but squander your tax dollars to compensate the grifter Zelenskyy! Trump is on track to sort this, putin and his BRICS colleagues are laughing at the stupid American war machine responsible for a million or more casualties. It's over when Trump says so. He has said as much.

So I have to suggest you again, stay off the Khao Lao? Your ranting is not getting any better, is it?

I challenge anyone to demonstrate that this post shows any bias.

Expecting the childish emojis but no rational and well argued response.

You may show no particular bias, I am not really interested in the domestic US political positions, but you misunderstood, or at best seemed confused and contradictory over several of my points; in particular the vulnerability of the Crimean Peninsula, if it is to have any bearing on the future of the war, relying on one bridge. I also think that you underestimate the effect upon the efficacy of the US Military if afflicted with the sort of "big shake up in the military from the Trump side" on which apparently I can bet my bottom dollar. And yes, the significance of maps.

I can, read and understand, the implications of battle maps, and have a fair amount of professional training and experience of so doing. That is what frames my arguments.

Well here's some bias for you. The "efficacy" of the US military didn't do so well pulling out of Afghanistan now did it?. Obviously this is no slight on the troops but the idiots who planned it and the idiot who signed off on it.

"I can, read and understand, the implications of battle maps, and have a fair amount of professional training and experience of so doing."

What battle maps are you looking at? If you are actually looking at battle maps (please mention them) then it's all there to see. Russia is pushing further and further west. There's absolutely no denying this although as I have said before very slowly.

The Bush Cheney Rumsfeld bogus invasion of Iraq dismantled a Suni government and paved the way for Shia Iran and terrorists ISIS to become established there. As  well as the Afghanistan disaster. They should be held accountable. So all this subsequent mess are symptoms of Bush Cheney Rumsfeld cabal. Of course the only winners were /are the military industrial complex. And ongoing along that not such a winding road to Ukraine . Edit : if anyone wants to comment try reading the moving parts more carefully, I don't have the patience to school some of you people

They should be blamed for Putin invading the Ukraine? I don't think much of JrBush but they have nothing to do with the Ukraine. And the Neocons, those MAGA bull snort bogeymen, they  went back to their conservative think tanks/NGO's  where they were spawned, decades back, when Iraq went tlts up.

The only good thing is Putin has gutting both the Russian economy & manpower by this invasion. Now that Trump will let him win what he could not on the battlefield. Commie lovers do, what commie lovers got to do.

"Most of whose cities  are evacuated, infrastructure rubbled and farmlands laid waste."

This happens in wars if you haven't noticed.

"much of that Black Sea Fleet is at the bottom of the Black Sea."

Name the vessels sunk and how much of the fleet remains.

"The peninsulas communications are dependent on one bridge, which Ukraine has demonstrated it can cut when it wants."

The Kerch bridge is very tactical indeed. IMO if it's downed it want make that much of a difference.

"The much vaunted Russian Army, touted as superior to NATO and almost on a par with the US"

Rubbish. The Russian armed forces are nowhere close to the US, and NATO has some damn fine weapon systems, and for now US  military backing and financial support.

"relying on hiring in troops from North Korea to defend Mother Russia!"

10,000 questionably trained North Koreans that probably don't speak Russian ain't what I'd define as reliance.

"Ukraine, battered, is still standing, still fighting and still hurting Russia, and shows no sign of failing."

Agree except for the last bit. Personnel is a problem, weapons are a problem and it's Russia advancing  into Ukraine not Ukraine pushing back.

"NATO alliance, which is waking up to the fact that it is probably going to have to manage without the US."

Agree.

"The US military may well rapidly lose potency under the inspired leadership of a Fox News presenter, and with large swathes of it's command structure possibly facing dismissal or Courts Martial! Certainly no-one is going to rely on them!"

Disagree. There's going to be a big shake up in the military from the Trump side you can bet your bottom dollar on that.

"So when you are considering winning and losing, you need to consider more than battle maps."

Although battle maps are not all the same and open to bias they are still a valuable tool for seeing how the battlefield is moving which gives an indication of the direction of the war. I'm guessing you haven't looked at a single one.

I challenge anyone to demonstrate that this post shows any bias.
