A 27-year-old construction worker from Mukdahan, identified as Mr. Nakhin Iam-im, lost his life after being crushed beneath a 22-wheel trailer on Rama II Road in Bang Krachao Subdistrict, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon. The incident occurred opposite a Bangchak gas station, with local authorities receiving the report around 07:25 on November 22.

 

The accident involved a white Hino 22-wheel trailer (license plate from Pathum Thani, with the trailer registered also Pathum Thani). The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. The victim’s body was found beneath the rear left side of the trailer, alongside a bag, hat, and a sack of fertilizer. He had suffered severe head injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

According to coworkers, the incident occurred as the trailer driver was repositioning the vehicle to allow a pickup truck to move. During this process, workers nearby shouted in alarm, prompting the driver to stop the truck. Tragically, it was discovered that the victim had been resting under the vehicle during a break, unknown to his colleagues, leading to the fatal incident.

 

The Samut Sakhon police have taken initial statements from the trailer driver and coworkers. Authorities are reviewing CCTV footage from nearby businesses to gather additional evidence. The victim’s body has been transferred to Samut Sakhon Hospital’s forensic department for further examination.

 

The police plan to conduct further interviews with all parties involved and have assured that legal procedures will be followed. Once the investigation is complete, the victim’s body will be returned to his family.
