tomster Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I want to have a go at making Prosciutto Cotto and need a 3kg leg of pork that looks roughly like this: I can't see anything like it at Makro and it's way to hectic in there to start trying to explain what I need. Are there any places to buy such a thing in Pattaya? I can order in advance, not expecting to find that off the shelf, so to speak... Thanks in advance. 1
champers Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Big C Extra on Pattaya Klang? If possible, maybe take a Thai speaker to help. 1
Old Curmudgeon Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) I hope these butchers are useful in your quest for Prosciutto Cotto ... In Pattaya, I don't know, but in Bangkok have butchers who will have pork leg that size, and will send to you in Pattaya. I frequently buy from -- and recommend -- the following butchers: - Sloanes - The Accidental Butcher - Paleo Robbie 5+ years of experience with each of those: all good. Picture below is cooked, but all three above may have un-cooked, just must ask. But be prepared, prices at those specialty butchers not the same as Makro. - Old Curmudgeon (in Chiang Mai) Edited 5 hours ago by Old Curmudgeon 2
Bobthegimp Posted 3 hours ago Posted 3 hours ago Try the Muslim quarter, Pattaya Tai and Second Road area. It won't be Halal, but it should do the job.

Pattaya57 Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I'm confused. All supermarkets I've been in have a 'real butcher' counter?
