Experts say Trump's tariffs won't solve US carmakers' EU struggle
Last year, Germany shipped nearly 450,000 cars to the US, while only 136,000 US cars were sold in Germany, according to Germany's auto industry association VDA.
Before the introduction of the 25% tariff, the US had a mere 2.5% duty on cars from Europe, while the EU's rate for US vehicles is 10%.
Industry expert Ferdinand Dudenhöffer points to the size and fuel consumption of US vehicles as key obstacles, as fuel prices in Europe are significantly higher than in the US.
Without smaller, more fuel-efficient models, Dudenhöffer believes US manufacturers will continue to struggle in Europe, regardless of tariff policies.
It really isn't there could be a stronger, longer earthquake that hits the area at any time. If this happened during monsoon with a high water table the damage done to BKK could be so much worse. Condo sellers would tell you otherwise.
This is the beginning of the end of the USA as a global superpower. The Trump administration has done more to damage its position in the world order than anyone could have imagined a few months ago.
The world simply will not trade or trust this US admin' and countries will work together to avoid the USA as much as possible.
U.S. goods account for approximately 7% of Thailand's total imports. 18% of Thai exports go to the U.S.
The countries are very different in population size, so of course the USA needs more imports than Thailand.
