Weather Up to 11 Storms Predicted: Vietnam on High Alert
File photo for reference only Vietnam is bracing for an onslaught of storms in the East Sea, known globally as the South China Sea, with predictions of eight to eleven storms expected this year. Of these, three to five could potentially hit the Vietnamese mainland, according to forecasts by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development. Deputy Minister Nguyen Hoang Hiep announced at a recent meeting that the most active storm period is anticipated between now and October, with as many as six to eight storms forming. Of these, two or three may make landfall on the mainland. In November and December, further turbulent weather is anticipated, with an additional two to three storms and tropical depressions predicted, some of which could also reach land. Forecasters warn of prolonged heavy rainfall across various regions, including the north, north-central, Central Highlands, and southern areas, from late July through September. Central Vietnam is advised to prepare for particularly intense rainfall, including heavy out-of-season rains. Traditionally, the rainy season in these regions spans October to early December; however, the expected weather events might bring an earlier and more intense onset. Despite this, heat waves are predicted to persist into late July and August, though they are likely to wane by September. So far, four storms have already made their presence felt in Vietnamese waters this year. The first, named Wutip, hit in June, causing deadly floods across the central regions, resulting in 11 fatalities and submerging over 3,500 homes. Danas, the second storm, approached Vietnamese waters in July but did not make landfall and fortunately caused no casualties. The third storm, Wipha, struck the northern coast on Tuesday and has since continued to bring heavy rains to the north-central areas. The fourth, Co May, similarly did not make landfall but added to the region’s storm activity. This looming threat necessitates preparedness and vigilance as Vietnam faces potential environmental and humanitarian challenges due to the adverse weather. The government’s focus is on implementing disaster response measures, ensuring that the country is ready to face potentially life-threatening conditions during these tumultuous months. Meanwhile, the broader implications of these predictions lend urgency to ongoing discussions about climate mitigation and infrastructure resilience. Such considerations are critical for Vietnam’s future, given the increasing frequency and severity of such weather events. With storm damages previously costing the country millions each year, this year’s outlook underscores the pressing need for robust adaptive measures. Converting these costs to local currency, damages could run into billions of Thai Baht if the forecasts hold true. Vietnam now stands on the brink of an intense storm season, embarking on a coordinated response to safeguard lives and mitigate impacts. When wealthy people let the lesser wealthy take the bill every time, then there is something wrong with the system. And if course with an unpredictable president who with a few press conferences and Twitter, manage to send to marceds up and down as an rollercoaster where only the most wealthy can allow them self to buy, sell, buy sell and buy as the markeds being dictated by your president, it is not hard to criticism him for what's actuall happened. 🎢 Do you disagree with me? -

If you are secure with your finances why do wealthy people sicken you? It can't be controlled and it has nothing to do with trump. I donated to trumps campaign. He deserves a lot more though I'd rather just shake his hand
