Attaching Files to Posts - Request to add .pdf files to the list of acceptable file types

Featured Replies

Any chance of adding .pdf files to the list of acceptable file types which can be attached to a post?  Would be useful for document sharing

Update: I could attach .pdf files to posts in the past. See post below. Perhaps it has been omitted/lost during one of the software upgrades since then. Also the .pdf in the example below cannot now be displayed/downloaded.

Unfortunately .pdf files are a known vector for malware 😞

The forum security gurus have decided that the risk to the forum from this file type is not acceptable, hence the ban.

There's nothing to stop you putting your .pdf on cloud storage (Google Drive, OneDrive etc.) and posting a share link.

Sorry for the inconvenience 😞

Thanks for the reply @Crossy. I did wonder if it was to protect from potential malware distribution/infection.

It's not a big issue. You answered my question, so the topic can now be closed.
