February's price jump is the largest since 1980–even after adjusting for inflation and beats the record set by January's price data. This historic run of egg-price surge stems from H5N1 avian influenza—or bird flu—hitting poultry producers hard this winter. The increase came after a new version of the virus emerged in wild migratory birds in September 2024 and then jumped to domesticated fowl. 1 1 1

I posted a few times in the last month that culling 100mn chickens tends to have an effect on the market price. 1 1
Popular Post Briggsy Posted March 20 Popular Post Posted March 20 It is apparent that Ukraine, at great cost, is hurting Russia through its drone attacks on oil and gas facilities. It is no surprise therefore to find Trump focusing his attentions on a ceasefire on attacks on infrastructure. He is seemingly parroting Moscow's desires and dressing them up as progress on the peace negotiations. This is completely dishonest. The reality is that Trump is not an honest broker, places all the pressure on Ukraine and agrees to whatever Putin wants. If he really wants peace, he should support Ukraine in any way he can with their attacks on Russian infrastructure in order to force Putin to compromise. Oil and gas is the lifeblood of the Russian economy. That needs to be where the pressure is placed. Trump will not do this as Trump himself may be compromised. 1 1 2 3

There exiled Russian Konstantin (expert in economics and energy industry) has been predicting Russia's economic melt down for years now. Well that might be a concern in an elected democracy but in the lands of dictators they have so much sweeping powers it wont matter one bit, Putin can take every Russian to the grave with him, the apparatus has so much control and wields so much fear who can will move to Thailand. 1
Popular Post rabang Posted March 23 Popular Post Posted March 23 Russia is simply too corrupt, too backward, too statist and too authoritarian, even too small with its population placing it somewhere between Japan, Mexico and Bangladesh, to be a true superpower. If the country is an economically and culturally insignificant place but dreaming of being one of the world's great powers, then the only way of making their presence known is by violence. 1 1 1
sharot724 Posted March 23 Posted March 23 Just how can the average Russian on the street not be aware of the scum leadership. Speak of blind faith I cannot understand as many Ru.ssians I know enjoying the wealth of the US despise him 1

Anything to say about them in the relevant subforum, or is it only bad when Russia does it? 1 1 1 3

Russia is not as economically significant as other superpowers like China and the US but to claim that it is culturally insignificant shows your ignorance. I’m guessing that you come from a country with less than 300 years of history and your biggest cultural export is that of the “ugly tourist”. That and interference. 1 3

Popular Post Sir Dude Posted March 25 Popular Post Posted March 25 Russia's economy is now dependent on perpetual war... otherwise it will collapse miserably. The Kremlin knows that it can't afford to win the war or lose it, as the economic implications are too negative regardless of what happens... both end games are a problem. 3 1 1
