100% correct.I got mine mailed to me in 7 days last time.1,2,3,4.

Very simple to see that all REGULAR passports from Canada other than an emergency passport are 5 years in length, with the option to pay for a ten year passport for more money. If I were you I would fly back to Canada and get a new passport in person.  

Unless the Canadian passport office will send back your new passport by Fedex.

Canada post does this almost every year so that their staff get a long holiday at XMAS.

 

The part that P!sses me off is that a lot of young people used to depend on part-time work sorting parcels and getting mail through for Christmas. As I worked for a subcontractor delivering, I also got extra hours and wages. It was a good thing.  Then the Union decided to be anal and screwed up a good thing. 

 

We had to empty the boxes every day and got harrassed by the idiots on the street  Heaven help us if we actually got out of our vans to throw the mail bags into the loading dock. 

 

I grew up in a Pro-union house, but I can tell you that the Posties turned me off unions.
