It would be an interesting result if we had a "poll" feature in this forum.  Was Derek Chauvin really guilty of anything other than callous disregard?  Does the forum have this feature?

There is, no idea how you do it though

So, does it mean one cop kneeling on an already immobilized (handcuffed and lying face down)  and detained mans neck, until death,  while two cops are just watching the drama, is just fine and fully justified?

Should not the bi-standers also be taken to task?

Cancel culture on the basis of being a "racist" doesn't work any more.

Nobody with a brain cell takes any notice of something that has been overdone to the point of being a bad joke.

and there we have the reason for it- politically motivated.

Nothing to do with with him kneeling on an unconscious man's neck for several minutes until he was dead??

Ah, just political. Yeah, damn politically motivated reporting of people kneeling on necks! Damn!

I would have so much more respect for racists if they just said "I'm racist, I hate black and foreign people". But they try and come up with nonsense like you just did instead. Too ashamed? Just say it and own it.

I doubt you know what a real racist is, nor why it was a politically motivated case. You certainly know nothing about me.

Ashamed? :coffee1:

Nice try but no cigar.

Having just spent some time following this thread, and reading this post, let us say I have been able to form an opinion.

As far as defining and establishing racism and who is a racist is concerned, in the case of a significant number of those posting, it is not a particularly creditable one.

The phrase "usual suspects" springs to mind!

No, he was a violent felon and ex-con.  In Texas, he had been charged and convicted nine crimes between 1997 and 2007.  The most serious was a home invasion robbery during which he pressed a gun to a woman's abdomen to threaten her.  He was sentenced to five years in prison in 2009 and was released on parole in 2013.  It's not publicly known if Chauvin and the other Minneapolis police officers were aware of his record in Texas at the time of the fatal arrest encounter.  That knowledge could have consciously or unconsciously influenced the level of violent used against Floyd.

Prior to the home invasion conviction,  Floyd had been sentenced to a combined total of 40 months in county jail for four separate drug offenses; two theft-related offenses; criminal trepass; and failure to identify himself to police.  It's not clear how much time he actually spent behind bars.  In all nine criminal cases in Texas, Floyd pleaded guilty or no contest as part of a plea bargin agreement to receive a lower sentence.

It's widely believed Flod was stopped. questioned, detained or even arrested by police many more times in Texas, but those encounters didn't result in criminal charges and no formal record exists.   After he moved to Minnesota and fell back into drug use, Floyd was arrested or cited by Minnepolis Police for drug and traffic offenses.

From the Harris County, Texas, court records.

But but but he was a poor person and oppressed! Society owes poor oppressed individuals the right to not obey the law , become criminals , drug addicts, steal from street corner variety stores and when

acting outrageous , excused for their bad behavior, bad choices and given another and another and another chance to start a new life .

While in Minnesota a 2019 incident . Ingested drugs to escape criminality, calling for his mom, said he’d been shot, crying.

“The similarities are incredible. The exact same behavior in two incidents, almost one year apart,” Nelson said.

You seem to be an angry man.  Why the hate and vitriol?  People can see the same thing and reach different conclusions.
