Been looking at BBC site this evening, and as usual they have given there opinions on who will be the first to get the boot this season.

http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/e...rem/6913399.stm

Looks pretty realistic, it seems that Chris Hutchings at Wigan is the favourite, and given his previious history at Bradford then I think thats a good bet. They have also made a few pointed comments about his signings during the summer.

My own choices would be

1st Hutchings

2nd Jol (If he doesn't get a good start, I think his time may be up)

3rd Lee

As, I have said Jol really needs a good start, Spurs have invested heavily over the past couple of seasons and they still haven't delivered.

Just to add a bit of debate, how about Wegner to walk out before the end of the season?

I reckon it will be neck and neck between Lee and Hutchings,

Steve Bruce could also come a cropper if Birmingham fail to establish themselves this sason

Martin Jol wont get sacked, spurs havent had a team this good for years. Bit of a suprise but I put my money on Sven going first, hes already admitted spending over 40million on players hes never seen play live before and they want to break into the top 6. Well have to see what Thaksins patience is like.

Don't you think it is sad when: who will be the first manager sacked is a far more interesting topic than who is going to win the league. It just goes to show the premiership is in a pretty bad state.

Am I the only one who can see that?

I'll go for:-

Sammy Lee (will Bolton give him time) or Lawrie Sanchez (can he do it at club level)

I'm not saying Sven couldn't go but he won't go first. He'll be given time to let the team gel and they will !!

I agree that Spurs haven't had a team this good for a number of years, but the patience of the Chairmen and Directors quickly runs oiur, if they don't think they are going to get a return on their investements.

In fact, I think Jol is a good manager but what we the fans and the players think doesn't matter with the moneymen sat up in the directors box.

As Len Shackleton once wrote in the chapter titled "What the average director knows about football" in his Autobiography and then left the page blank. Pretty accurate in my opinion.

I still stick to Hutchings and probably closely followed by Lee, but this is a crucial season for Jol.

I think we've done ok , 05/06 - 4th for most of the season and qualifying for UEFA, 06/07 - Fifth place and UEFA quarters.

Room for improvement and that is what we will get hopefully. Outside of the big 4 there is no team anywhere near breaking the deadlock except Spurs.

I agree Jol has to deliver this season and I believe he will.

Haven't seen Roy Keane's name mentioned here. I have seen him quoted by one bookies in the UK at 40-1 to get the sack this season, the same odds as Alex Ferguson. Perhaps they're gonna swap places at the end of the season :o

Prediction:

Sunderland go on a 19 game losing run. Niall Quinn jumps off the Wearmouth Bridge followed by 48,000 Mackems. The Stadium of Light is hit and destroyed by a meteor. Sunderland are relegated with 0 points along with Middlesbrough and West Ham. Fortunately for the Hammers they are allowed to stay up when it is found that their 24 illegal signings were signed in the middle of the night under the influence of alcohol and therefore the Cockneys are cleared of all charges by the inquiry chief, Trevor Brooking.

After walking out on Sunderland after losing 3-0 on the opening day at Sunderland, Roy Keane joins Mick McCarthy at Wolves. It lasts just 25 minutes and Roy spends the next 5 months walking his dog. At the end of January following the abduction of Alex Ferguson by hooded Chelsea fans, Roy Keane miraculously reappears walking on the murky waters of the Manchester Ship Canal and becomes the new manager of Manchester United after Manchester United fail to pay Ferguson's ransom demand in time. Black armbands with Hello Kitty on are worn by Manchester United's players for the rest of the season.

Newcastle United win the league, but an inquiry finds that Sam Allardyce bribed referees, drugged opposition players and all his signings were illegal. They are demoted 4 divisions where they will face Leeds United in the Mickey Mouse Conference next season.

Peter Crouch finishes as the Premier League's top scorer with 4 goals ... a dour statistic reflecting the ultra defensive tactics of most teams during the season.

With writing like that you should try and get a job with the Bangkok Post. Much better than reading Wankchai. :o

Not a good start for Lee, Hutchings or Jol. But, after seeing Bolton's abject display, they really look like they have some problems there.

Any further comments on this. Looks like the rumours are building up, with Jol taking most of the heat.

Ian Mcdonald ( Carlisle ) grand total....1 game :o

Colin Calderwood (Our lot, Forest ) hopes spring eternal :D

Premier....Sammy Lee. What's the statistics?? 6 games in charge & 5 lost, or something like that.

Think the next two weeks we will see one or two casualties around the leagues. Sammy Lee looks in big, big trouble and he has no luxury of being able to fall back on a previous succesful run. Maybe Hutchings at Wigan is going to prove me wrong.

I think Davies will last the season, Hutchings too but Lee, Hmm? The way they played on Saturday made them look very vulnerable at the back. Also with Anelka & Diuof unsettled I think will be a long hard season.

Never mind the club sides...lets get Mclaren out before too much longer & we still have a slim chance of make the Euro finals

No thanks, Bolton or someone can have him....My thinking was get him sacked on this thread, get him a new job in a club side ie Bolton when Lee's gone,...then start posting to debate how long he lasts there. :D

McClown, is a good coach, but he is not a good manager. His track record as a coach is good, and he is well respected in the game. However, he never really pulled up any trees whilst he was at Middlesbore and he is still tainted with the the previous Sven regime. Time for him to go.

I have a sneaking suspicion, that with his name that he really is a Jock and it's some form of sabotage. :D

This weekend could be a crucial one for Sammy Lee.

Yep, he needs a win, nothing else will satisfy the supporters or the board methinks.

Reading can be beaten, everyone knows that, but we did the double over them last year, and have never forgiven them for denying us our chance of the big time in 95-96 season play-off final.

I feel sorry for Sammy, who is a good bloke, but the board have got to take full responsibilty for "over promoting" in the same way Charlton did last year...thought they could hire a manager "on the cheap" and it all backfired.

The fact that Sammy does not appear to be up to the job is really not his fault, and I bet he wished now that he had turned it down and stayed on the coaching staff.

Having said that if he wins today ...well its a start, though personally I can't wish him good luck today.
