Yes the russians are gaining ground!but are they wining the war?

At what cost?Endless supply of human resources? What is with the North Koreans then?

Gigantic loss of life and material.Economy slowly falling apart.

For the worlds second best army to run over a much smaller country in 3 days ?

How much have the really gained?

So who is "doomed"?

No one is as blind as he who does not want to see.

Proportionally higher in the Ukraine. Russian economy not falling apart.

Quote: "How much have they really gained"? = 1/4 of the Ukrainian territory so far.

Im afraid Ukraine is doomed to lose this war, as I claimed from the very beginning. I hope Im wrong, but so far, all my predictions have become true. We just have to wait and see if Ukraine give up Crimea and a few of the provinces annected to end the war.

As long Zelensky and Putin rules, there will be no peace.

If Donald cuts off the "funding", there will be peace. The Ukraine returning home to the Russian Empire, where they have been for centuries before.

The people of Ukraine don’t want to be assiocsated with Russia

The people of Crimea don’t want to be associated with Ukraine. To what country in your opinion Crimea should belong?

It is as I have posted many times a prolonged attritional war. Russia has more bodies and weapons to throw at it. Russia continues to gain ground. This is the reality. Why wasn't this stopped before it started and once it did start why weren't weapons poured into Ukraine?

Crimea is gone from Ukraine. Simple as that. Anyone that thinks otherwise is wrong. Russia cannot be pushed back without significant international intervention which is not going to happen and anyone who thinks this will happen is wrong. As it is Russia continues to gain ground and anyone who disputes this is wrong. As far as winning a protracted attritional war, Russia is winning.

So in one case opinion of people matters, in another is not. Double standards? Yes.

OK, but what difference will it make to your retirement in Thailand?

You are right, Russia takes what they want, China also, so expect Taiwan and most of China sea to fall in hands of China, and there is no Consequenses for neighboring countries at all. Life goes on as it have done.

And we can continue, because there is many border conflicts around the world that never have been selved, also in Thailand. Cambodia want land back along Mekong, and also south east islands and sea. Not to forget the insurgents south at the Malaysian border

Some posters here are constantly claiming that Russia is "doomed".

- Who is making territorial gains? Who is in the process of winning this war?

The Russian economy is self-sufficient, has an endlees supply of natural/human resources.

As opposed to the Ukraine, depending to 90% on "foreighn support". Without this foreighn-support, the Ukraine would never have been able to conduct any sort of "effective defensive warfare" against the Russians in the first place.

So, who is "doomed"?

Peace talks next year will show how much territory and state souvereighnity the Ukraine will be able to retain. The price will be high, especially as Donald thinks the price to support a hopeless war is too high already. Far away from his "America First" gospel.

Seems to me, that a number of numb-asses here adhere to the same phlosophy as Adolf, the "red army" merely standing 100 km away from Berlin, still insisting that the "Endsieg" is close at hand.

Yo, Ivan:

Your rubles are worthless.

Your oil is becoming harder and harder to sell.

You are basicaly defenseless in the Far East so you need to suck Xis you know what.

You have no tanks

Your Air Force is 2nd rate.

Your population is restive.

You can only do biz with loser scumbag countries.

You are under the thumb of China

Your leader is old and twitchy.

Your infrastructure is 3rd world.

You can barely feed yourself.

You dont manufacture anything other than weapons which are second rate and no one wants, besides, you need to reequip yourself.

You dont have a Navy

You are bottled up in the Baltic

Your intelligentsia has fled.

Your inaction in Syria has cost you all of your credibility among the Arabs and Africa

Your satraps and allies are disintegrating.

All you can do is threaten nukes and be an annoyance.

I think the question is how much of the Ukrainian army have they destroyed.

Not forgotten, both parts have a long history of violent revenge, and two evil doesnt make one right? Or?

If you look at in a bigger picture and pure strategic, Israel acting as Gods Fist in an chaotic part of the world, doing the west an favor as long as it holds their borders.

An empire needs bullies to do the dirty work, like Saddam Hussain once was, sponsored and acted on the empires wish, until he understood he was backstabbed.

All very simplified of course, but there is big lines where sacrifices has to be done on both sides.

Im not a Russian zealot

Are you Ukrainian? Do you have family, friends anyone that you love in Ukraine? Do you have a business there, or plan to start one? Are you intending to move there after the war?

Any reason at all to have a personal interest in Ukraine?

If not any of the above, why do you care? There is a far worse conflict going on in Sudan, compared to which Ukraine is a side show, bar the threat of WW3 and nuclear winter, so do you have any opinions concerning that, or is it "nothing to do with you" just as Ukraine is if you answered no to all my above questions, or is it that Ukrainians are white and Sudanese are not?

That would depend on how long the NATO countries are willing to send them bullets etc. Not much of an army if all they can do is point the rifle at the enemy and shout "BANG".
