In a tense and dramatic operation, rescue teams successfully saved two women who could not swim and were swept away by strong flood currents in Nakhon Si Thammarat. The victims managed to cling to an electricity pole, preventing a potential tragedy.

The incident occurred at 11:00 on December 16, when the women became stranded in rising and fast-flowing floodwaters on Thew Buri Road in Pho Sadet Subdistrict, Mueang District. Responding to the emergency, rescue teams from the Mittraphap Samakkhi Foundation in Hat Yai, along with the Tai Tek Tung rescue unit, deployed a boat to reach the victims.

The situation was extremely challenging, with water levels rising rapidly and currents flowing at dangerous speeds. Despite the difficulties, the rescuers persevered and were able to bring the two women to safety.

The victims, visibly shaken but unharmed, expressed their gratitude to the rescue team.

The operation highlights the ongoing dangers posed by flooding in the region during the rainy season. Authorities have urged residents to exercise caution and avoid venturing into flooded areas.
