Banglumrat on Sukumvit.

Years ago.

I'd say they still do it as a good money spinner.

He means Bumrungrad

Best knee doctor there is  https://www.bumrungrad.com/en/doctors/panya-wongpatimachai

If cost is a concern (Bumrungrad is expensive) then

https://www.medparkhospital.com/en-US/doctors/prof-dr-aree-tanavalee

or

https://www.saintlouis.or.th/doctor/dr.aree-tanavalee/d39d763d-0ca2-4b2d-b865-967c61a380e2

Same doctor, different hospitals. Can call or email for injection cost

I had the first hyaluronic acid injection in my knee about nine years ago and a second one about 18 months after the first, both at Bumrungrad with Dr. Panya.

Since the second injection, my knee has remained in much better shape than it was prior to the first, although perhaps not as good as the first year after each injection.

Back then the cost was somewhere in the 20,000+ baht range.

My FiL received an injection in his knee at Soon Padpattana Clinic and had he not been insured, the could would have been about 7,000 baht.

What have you found out so far ?  I would be interested in what prices you have been getting ............ and which brands of HA  is being offered. (also 1 shot or 3 shot version?)

thanks,  rumak

They only had the 3 shot version when I had it, but would expect by now it would be 1 shot.

Both are available (though not necessarily at all places). The 1 shot costs much more than individual shots of the multidose regimen. Important to bear this in mind when comparing costs. The lower costs mentioned in this thread may have been individual doses of  3 injection course.

There is also a newer preparation (Arthrosamid) that lasts much longer, several years. Available in Europe  not yet US FDA approved and AFAIK not yet available/approved in Thailand.

Approval applied for in U.S., Canada and Australia.  Knowing the FDA, it will take forever and a day for approval in the U.S.

Hi, had quotes from Medpark Hospital, estimate 15-30k plus 5k fees. Bangkok Christian Hospital  12 to 20k plus fees. Both say need to see a consutant first. None stipulated brands/shots. The Arthromasid seems to be about 2500 pounds but apparently as Sheryl mentioned not here yet

Cost estimate is meaningless unless you know if it is the 1 shot or 3 shot type and, if the latter, is the price per shot or course of 3.

Do not discount the skill of the doctor doing the injection  i.e. don't  just go anywhere. Choose doctor with care.

Intrarticular injections are not same as ordinary injections.

I went for BeautUp Clinic for stem cells and PRP treatment for my knees. Very very happy with the results. Cost was about 85,000 baht.

As an alternative, have you looked into PRP?  I have found PRP works well.  I have also found that going down to KL the cost is much cheaper than TH even with the airfare ( for PRP).  I am not sure about HA, but there are many small clinics that should be able to do HA at a very reasonable price.
