The vaped weed that put me over the edge was supposedly 45% THC

Wasn't weed in the 70's like 7% max.  Ditch weed was probably 4%.

Out of the two strains, Indica was def my enemy. I could feel my IQ lowering.

Though after the second spliff, it didn't seem to matter too much what kind it was.

Can you vape the flowers? Or is this rosin or oil your vaping.  I only know about edibles and smoking flowers.

When I was in BKK I was on vacation but one time I ate an edible before taking the BTS to the mall with the electronics and it got me on the BTS and I must have looked like a stoner.

They say this can be a sleep aid but I need to use 4-6 hours before I plan to sleep or I can't sleep.  My mind is in full gear. I tried some Colorado sleep gummy at 10 pm and didn't sleep until 4 am.  That is a bad time when to have to drive 840 km the next day.  Think I delayed that departure a day.

Also for me driving under the influence would be worse than drink driving.  So I only do it when I don't need to drive

The only thing I vape is flowers. I'm using what's called a "dry herb vaporizer". It's basically just a miniaturized electronically controlled weed oven that heats it up to 190°C (or whatever temperature you set it to) which is enough to cause it to release a good blast of THC vapors. But since there is no combustion, you're not inhaling any tar or ash along with it from the weed, it's only the cannabinoids that you're inhaling.

I'm generally the same though when it comes to sleeping after vaping. It gives me lots of thoughts and not so easy to fall asleep, unless of course, I'm just really exhausted. Then it can be nice.

Just spent a couple days in Vegas.  It was near an 70 year record  of 20c so we bobped down there.   Weed smells everywhere.   People smoking doobs on the street and I even saw vapes in casinos.  Smelled yummy to me but I could imagine it not being enjoyable for many including the wife.

Yeah, that brick weed, which is what most of it was back then, came from Mexico or South America and it had THC as low as 2% and probably as high as around 6%. It was all pretty much garbage. There was a bit of that sinsemilla around at times, which is Spanish for "without seeds". It was a lot more expensive, a bit greener and had a bit better smell, maybe slightly higher THC, but by comparison still pretty pedestrian compared to what they grow now.

I smoked it for about a year or two as a teenager, then completely quit for 40 years. By the time I rediscovered it last year, everything had changed tremendously.

I don't smoke it, but people don't even need to roll their own joints anymore. They sell rolling papers already in the shape of a cone with a filter at the end and all you need to do is pour some weed down the tube and you got yourself a perfect joint. If you fill it correctly, you'll end up using about a gram almost every single time. I did some experimenting with the cones just to see how they turn out and each one came out as a perfect gram on the scale. One of those seems like it would be enough to pass around between four or five people.

I would smoke one of those 4 times a day.

So I was smoking pot for 20 people.

But he is also on the zero woman diet, that's not normal. Especially in Thailand!!!

In Denver last month and they now sell small pre roll  joints and they had a special name I can't recall but much better for a solo puffer.  Many years ago I was visiting daughter at college and I questioned with disgust about the pack of cigarettes on her book shelf.  She said " dad that's to roll spiffs".  I didn't even know what a spiff was.  They dump out the tobacco and fill with pot.   Kids these days so unskilled and or lazy they can't even roll a joint!!

I smoked weed on and off from 18 to about 40.

I quit because I stopped enjoying it. In hindsight, I made some dumb decisions in my life when I was on it, that made things harder than they needed to be.

YIKES.  Just kidding.  Everyone should decide for themself how to live.

For myself a learned two weeks ago that I am physically addicted to caffeine.  I had to not have any on a Monday for a Tuesday heart test.  I had headaches and felt like crap.  I never have headaches.  Learned it is common.  As I sit here with my FIRST cup of coffee for today.  LOL.

I drink.  Like a hard day of drinking will be yesterday when I had a tiny fireball shot on the golf course and a glass if wine with dinner..  Feel lousy today as my body doesn't metabolize that <deleted> well.  Still enjoy it for a few hours once in a while.  Probably won't drink again for a week.

Gave up ALL forms of baccy years ago.  Hardest thing to give up ever.  I've used lots of opiates recovering from surgeries and been physically addicted to them but never have a problem getting off that <deleted>.  Cigarettes were HARD baby and I won't even touch a cigar now.

Weed for me is fine.  I still only want it rarely and usually a gummy as my now pristine lungs don't like smoke.  A gummy once or twice a week keeps me jolly.

I would be unhappy if I had a child in the ages of 10-50 doing weed in any format.  Reason is I believe it reduces IQ and motivation which people need at that stage of life.  Me over 70?  <deleted> I don't need brains or motivation.  😅

I guess you were. 😊

When I was a young teenager, they didn't even have those pre-rolled cones. The millennials are pretty lucky with all this modern tech. You had to really roll your own back then, but it wasn't a big deal. The weed was so disastrously bunk though that the problem was that it was difficult to get rid of all the seeds and twigs in the weed before you rolled it. You would often end up getting a twig poking through and tearing the joint, or, even worse, a seed would combust inside the joint while you were smoking it and nearly tear your joint in half. We usually called it reefer. Or just pot.

And the papers weren't cone shaped either. Bambu were the nicest brand of rolling paper back then. Very thin, and, if you were able to roll a joint with them successfully, then it almost felt like there was no paper on your weed when you were smoking it. If you were not such a great roller, then you went for the EZ Wider brand. They were thick and clumsy, but it was hard to miss rolling with those. I think on average back then we would probably put about half a gram into a normal joint. I don't think we rolled too many 1 g joints.

I see you can still buy Bambu brand rolling papers from Spain on Amazon. I might have them send over a half a dozen packs just for nostalgia. One of the Cheech and Chong movies was even titled The Big Bambu.

The cones I bought on Shopee are called "Bros" brand. You can tell by that kind of a brand name that it's a new entry to the world of weed. Paid ฿150 for 100 cones. Possibly they aren't the real brand either for that low price, but they look like they work.

I doubt that my pre-Thailand joints had even a quarter gram of weed in them. So it's like I fell in to the Super-size Me-movie.

My Amsterdam sojourns were all half-gram joints. I might have had 3 of them on a party-hard day.

So goes the world. Our food is polluted to make you fatter and want more of it, our weed is going the same way.

I'm on vacation in Sri Lanka (which I really love). All of the food is super-natural and I eat much less of it with greater satisfaction. You have to search for coffee you'd want to drink. A pack of cigarettes is close to a day's wages. The local booze, Arak, is like a smoother San Thip.

Weed is virtually unknown here. No local market for it. No tourist market either. People are here for culture and yoga. India was the same.

The chill factor and functionality here is through the roof. I could live here. Kandy is Chiang Mai on valium.

Prob harder to hook up with women here than even Malaysia, tho. My guide says you gotta be pure Buddhist. No amulets, no Nang Kwak.

I'm not saying to do it.

I'm saying that for me, it def became addictive and de-railing to have cheap and powerful weed around me all of the time.

95% of people who smoke weed are fine with it and should keep on doing it. It's great as a money spinner in tourist zones.

Some questions:

-Have you met people like me for whom it is a negative habit?

-Do you ever take tolerance breaks?

-Has weed impacted your health or cognition?

I quit 6 months ago because I realized for me it was making my life less satisfying.  Had some fun experiences but daily use became less stimulating and not being as aware became tedious.  Some enjoy the release that zoning out brings but most of the time I like to experience the moment in more clarity.

I still drink but for some reason I'm much more aware when drinking.  You stated weed is addictive but it wasn't for me.  Just stopped one day and easily moved on.

Many benefits to weed: Not really addictive, people are generally not aggressive, better deal with a stoned driver vs. a drunk one, no beer belly, and much cheaper than alcohol...

.25 g would be kind of like a toothpick.

Just remembered that I have some of those RAW brand papers around. I hadn't looked at them before, but I realize now that they're the same size as the Bambu brand I used to use over 40 years ago; 1 1/4.

As an experiment, I just packed in an amount that I normally would've rolled with back then and it came out to be .42 g on the scale. It was kind of a pin joint. Then I did a second one with as much as I could stuff in there and it came out to only .66 g. So, yes, joints were a lot smaller back in the day. Probably averaging .5 g.

What impressed me though about these RAW papers was that, back then, if I twisted them as hard as I did these, they would've torn so easily. I guess rolling paper technology has come a long way now too because I didn't even come close to tearing these RAW papers.

It would be interesting to see what the Bambu papers are like now. I assume they are not as brittle as they were before either. The watermark on Bambu rolling papers features the brand’s name written in its signature cursive script. The design is embedded in a way that is visible when held up to the light along with some vertical lines.

I think it can be addicting . Maybe just doing it with friends is addicting.   I never smoked alone when I was younger.   my mind goes off wandering so for me it would be dangerous to drive.  Also it puts you in a different mind state.  So for example if I clean and rearrange my garage while high I can't find things when not high.   I enjoy the creative ideas I get if I can remember them.

I noticed when I'm unemployed, I smoke more weed.

When I have a job to do it's only the occasional bong hit, from time to time. Maybe it's not weed that's the problem, maybe it's the lack of meaningful activities in your life.

Has your life peaked?  Any peak experiences to look forward to?  Or is your life all in the rear view mirror.  Maybe you need a checkup from the neck up. 😄

BS, you simply made that up to fit your agenda.
