The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) has successfully secured a $500 million investment from South Korean investors for the Smart Park development. This effort is part of the "Now Thailand – The Golden Era" campaign, aiming to make Thailand a top choice for international business ventures.

Yuthasak Supasorn, IEAT Chairperson, and Thanee Sangrat, the Thai Ambassador to South Korea, led discussions with over 20 South Korean investors. These talks focused on investment opportunities and benefits offered in Thailand.

Key interest areas include solar energy businesses, with South Korean investors admiring IEAT's carbon neutrality policies and exploring electricity ventures. These investors are also seeking guidance from the Energy Regulatory Commission on business processes.

Additionally, South Korean electric vehicle producers are considering Thailand as a manufacturing hub for ASEAN exports. Interests also span the steel and energy sectors, with expansions planned in existing industrial zones like Amata City Rayong and Laem Chabang.

The Smart Park project forecasts a $500 million investment with diverse participation, including energy and medical sectors. IEAT offers incentives like land ownership support to help South Korean investors make informed choices.

Sumet Tangprasert, acting Governor of IEAT, highlighted the positive investment trend as an economic booster, creating jobs and enhancing competitiveness. This move aligns with Thailand's goals for industrial growth and regional business leadership, leveraging its strategic location and infrastructure for sustainable development.
