Pork is notoriously hard to digest.

I tend to remove the fur coat first, and braise for long time.

What a stupid attitude.

There are only 6 recorded occurrences of this happening worldwide. How about we stick to worrying about road deaths and leave nature to get on with its life!

No need to kill the python. They did the right thing in, reportedly, having it returned to a forest area far from the village.

Why do these dangerous animals have to be protected ?

Yes and I'm puzzled at the header:- "A rural village......thrown into a state of alarm" and yet the happy guys moving it on said something like--  "it was harmless?"

It wont be hungry for a month or three?

Agree with Thingamabob saying :- "No need to kill the python. They did the right thing in, reportedly, having it returned to a forest area far from the village. "

Q...  why arent the public and Thai authorities dealing with the reality of  deaths from Pit Bull Terriers and the like.?? Mmm cut their heads off and feed the pythons.

Pythons almost never attack people. The most dangerous animals are human beings.

It was a snake doing what snakes do, eating.

Leave the snake alone, the people called people who are qualified to remove the animal to a safe location for  snakes.

I've seen a SMALL snake(s) several times traveling thru our yard - "Thanks for the visit, good bye."
