You're looking at this in the completely wrong way. First off, you must understand that 1000kph (or mph) are measurements of linear speed...not rotational speed. If you stand on Earth’s equator, you’re moving at approximately 1000 mph with respect to Earth’s center. However, if you stand at any latitude greater than zero degrees, you’re moving slower than 1000 mph. If you stand at the north or south pole (90º latitude), you’re moving at zero mph with respect to Earth’s center.

 

HOWEVER, rotation is measured by the angle of rotation, which is the amount a figure is rotated around its center. The angle of rotation is usually measured in degrees.

 

The Earth rotates 360 degrees in 24 hours. This means that the Earth rotates 15 degrees every hour, which is 0.25 degrees/min.  That's twice as slow as the hour hand of a clock, which you can't see moving either, despite rotating twice as fast at 0.5 degrees/min.

19 of approximately 333 000 commercial pilots around the globe  = 0.00570570571% and it's easy to find that percentage of whack jobs in any profession. I worked in the commercial aviation industry for three different airlines in the USA for 35 years. Never met one pilot that claimed flat Earth, though I did know a handful of whack jobs. One even saw Angels up there, so I reckon that would confirm Angels for you too❓ 🤣

There is certainly a group and peer pressure effect which will lead the herd to go along with the doxa, and rationality has actually little do do with it.

 

It reminds me of that CIA experiment where 18 people were shown a picture of a triangle and 17 of them (actually CIA agents) said they saw a square and the last guy (the only guy who wasn't in on the experiment but he didn't know) would also say he saw a square despite clearly seeing a triangle, for fear of being the one standing out.

 

There are plenty more testimonies of pilots and astronauts who, in confidence, will confirm that it is flat and stationary.

I'm sure we can argue about this to the dawn of the dusk and find proof for both, and to bee true, I do not know, since I haven't literally figured it out myself.

The midnight sun makes more sense on a still, level plane (around which the sun circles) than on a globe circling the Sun. Simply because during the summer solstice, the Sun at its innermost cycle is circling tightly around the polar center and therefore remains constantly visible above the Horizon.

 

 

Likewise, during that time in extreme Southern latitudes, the Sun disappears from view for over two months because it is circling the northern Center too tightly to be seen from the South.

The "headline" is for simplicity and to attract interest without getting overly technical and eyes glazing over. Anyone participating surely gets drift...however the answers are more precise, 1. "Flat" or 2. "Spherical" (not: a perfect sphere). Again anyone participating certainly understands the question without requiring such technical pedantry.

There is some few concerns when it comes to that remarkable idea, and one is:

 

There are always twelve hours of daytime and twelve hours of night-time at the equator, except for two minor effects that increase daytime by about eight minutes
