Point being, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and everyone has vastly different tastes. So if you feel your wife is very beautiful then than that's all that counts. It is only how you perceive her beauty that is important. 

Thai people are not shy about commenting on the perceived beauty of a girl, so it's common to get regular, unsolicited confirmation about a partners looks.  

 

Mines a good 9.5 to 10 in Thailand and off the scale when I take her to visit my country.  But she also has a pleasant character (for 3 weeks out of every 4 anyway).

When was the last time somebody told you that your girlfriend is ugly? Thai or otherwise? 
 

There have been times when Western friends have asked my opinion about a Thai girl that they thought was beautiful (and I didn't) but I would always complement the girl's beauty anyway.

Maybe you missed the word 'unsolicited' or perhaps you're projecting your own experience with women, but whatever the reason you're determined to be negative, and that's your choice, but it does not reflect my personal experience in Thailand.
