Can't set up a monthly transfer.
Thanks again, no it's not about a large amount, it's actually 15,000, however, I've been on the phone again to the SCB call center, apparantly the IT guys are looking at it and will call me when they find the issue. At first I thought it might be some new restriction on farang accounts, but now it seems like a technical hitch with my app or their system. About that face scan, I read that farang couldn't use that feature. Do you know if that's correct? -

Thai - Cambodia Conflict Thailand Refuses Repatriation of 18 Captured Cambodian Soldiers
Pictures courtesy of Royal Thai Army Facebook In a bold move today, Thailand has rejected a direct appeal from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet to repatriate 18 soldiers captured during a tense border conflict. This decision has sparked a diplomatic standoff between the two nations. The Royal Thai Army (RTA) confirmed the soldiers must face legal proceedings before being considered for repatriation. Major General Winthai Suvaree stated, “All detainees are being treated in line with international standards. Legal action under immigration law must be completed before any repatriation can take place.” The incident has intensified as Hun Manet publicly questioned via social media why Cambodia delayed sharing information about the soldiers. “There is a question as to why the Royal Government of Cambodia did not immediately release information regarding the Cambodian forces captured by the Thai army after the ceasefire?” he posed. He emphasised Cambodia's commitment to the safety of its troops and civilians since clashes began on 24th July, urging Thailand to return the detainees swiftly. The RTA reported that the soldiers surrendered on 29th July in Sisaket's Kantharalak district after a fierce exchange, having exhausted their ammunition supply. The conflict erupted when Cambodian forces allegedly shelled Thai territory, triggering a response from Thai units. “The Cambodian soldiers posed no threat and surrendered peacefully,” reassured Maj. Gen. Winthai. “They were disarmed and detained according to international humanitarian principles.” Two soldiers, seriously injured during the skirmish, are receiving medical care at Fort Weerawatyothin Hospital in Surin province. As part of the legal proceedings, the detainees are being prosecuted for illegal entry. They are also undergoing mental health evaluations to address potential trauma from their combat experience. Recovered weapons and explosives have been secured for inspection and evidence while explosives are set to be destroyed safely. The rest of the armaments will remain part of the legal case. Despite rising diplomatic pressure from Phnom Penh, Thailand’s firm stance demonstrates its resolve against cross-border incursions during these heightened tensions. The case is developing, with both sides showing no signs of yielding, leaving the regional community closely watching the unfolding situation. Adapted by ASEAN Now from The Thaiger 2025-07-31 -

Trump is on the ropes as Maga turns against Israel
Irgun and the Stern Gang contributed to the decision of the British to abandon Palestine. Their forte was assassinations. Iran used hostages to humiliate Carter. Going further back, American patriots were regarded as terrorists by the British government during the War of Independence. Not that I am excusing HAMAS, just pointing out the precedents. Israel started out this conflict with a lot of sympathy. It's now the bad guy. -

Son needs a Visa to help care for his Father in Pattaya
as i understand it, the family (siblings of the father) are assisting financially and i believe the father has a Trust of some sort that assists also. their financial status is superior to that of the son and perhaps could support the son in one way or another. so i'll say son's financial status is limited but the overall family is solid. the medical issue hasn't created a financial problem for the the Father and/or the Family. it sounds like the staff at the nursing home might be able to prepare a document that would help the son qualify for 90 day stay(s) under the cited immigration clause. if i'm reading that right. i'll have to see what discussions he's had with the folks at the nursing home.
