Even keel once helped me not only escape from view talay 2B but helped me when I was stranded between Jomtien & Pattaya 

 

Another member here forget the name but I'm sure you can find the thread ,  ,had the tourist police sent  outside my condo building in Jomtien last October when middle eastern young people were going berserk on their motorbikes , and there was a lot of them so he /she certainly had some authority

    Feel like you?  No, not at all.  I like that sales staff take the time to check that all the contents are in a package before I get home and discover something is missing.  Nice to know everything is there.  In my experience, they carefully repack the box and reseal it--and I haven't noticed any dirty hands with sales staff. 

    We just bought a new car and when we picked it up we were presented with a large bouquet of fresh flowers.   And, an assortment of drinks and snacks in the very nice waiting room while we finished the paperwork.   The sales person took all the time in the world to explain the car's new features--which were plenty--and patiently and politely answered all the questions we had. 

    And, yes, they took our photo standing next to the new car with a big red bow on it--I found that to be a very nice and endearing gesture.  Buying a new car is a very big deal here for a lot of Thais--and, actually, for my spouse and me, too--and the dealers know this--and let their customers know, too.  We left the dealership feeling appreciated, and well cared for.

   We have also called a number of times with questions that have come up and the salesman has patiently answered them for us, in some cases walking us through several different steps.  In the US, they threw the key to me, told me where my new car could be found on the lot, and sent me on my way.  Buh bye bye.

    I like there are lots of staffers when I go to the Big Box stores.  Usually we can find one that can assist us with what we are buying--plus checking on a product's supply--plus assisting us in figuring out how much of something we will need, such as floor tile--plus getting something down for us if it's too high to reach--plus running and getting a cart for us if we decide to buy something once we are well into the store--plus if it needs assembly they will do that for us--plus if its a large item they'll carry it to the checkout counter for us and then carry it to our car for us--plus if the item is too big for our car they'll arrange for delivery at no or little charge, and usually in just a day or two--plus--well you get the picture--that's a lot of pluses.   Again, try that in the US.

The only weirdos I see here are you and a couple others. Those who assume they know anyone and how much hey know. Those who are proven wrong and just have to keep coming back from low self esteem of ego, or both, just to argue. Who climes everyone else here is a narcissist? I can easily spot a few, because they have all of the symptoms. I'm sorry you can't, or won't understand this, because if the shoe fits...If you are yet to see i"m helping here, maybe you are just what I mentioned, a skimmer, who only wants to see what fits his agenda and disagrees with everything else. I'm guess that you didn't get far at school and now you are trying to overcompensate for that failure. You try too hard to convince everyone that you are here to help, but yet there is no evidence of you helping anyone. You claim that so many people here are narcissists who cannot read nor understand anything like you do, can only skim, don't research like you do. Sounds like you are an overly sensitive individual. None of these are particularly strange happenings, if I were buying a new phone I would expect for the staff to inspect it and make sure it works. The same would apply to any form of electronics that I purchased.

 

The ribbon ceremony and a car dealership is a tradition that seems to make the employees of the dealership very happy, so again why complain about that? 

 

Thailand is a very foreign culture and there are many aspects of this culture that are very, very different from where we came from. For me I celebrate that fact. I want to be some place that is different, I want to be someplace that is inexplicable and occasionally difficult to understand.

 

For me that creates mystery and intrigue and makes everyday here wonderful. 

 

I do agree that Home Pro does appear to be over staffed, and a lot of the employees seem to be quite bored, but whoever complains about great service? If I go into a Home Depot in America it takes me 15 minutes to get the attention of one individual if I'm looking for something, so why complain about something like this, unless you're a snowflake.

Just because you can't admit your shortcomings you think I'm spouting a "load of pseudo-psychology". The fact is, I'm dead on about what you are, and everyone who has just a little of knowledge about your kind can see this by what you say. I have been here longer than you, and have helped many people with posts on subjects I know about, just like many others here do. There are a few here, yourself included, who's main objective is just to argue. You do offer help at times, which I've noticed, yet cannot fathom that's what I do a lot here, and ask me to offer proof of this, when it's very easy to find. You change usernames like underwear, and tell others you've just joined. They, and I, aren't fooled.

There's a fact I've noticed all of my life. The only people I don't get along with are narcissists and sociopaths. People who's only agenda is to intentionally hurt others, especially women, because their parents did a real number on them in childhood. Those either diagnosed with a mental illness or who show all of the symptoms of same. You really don't realize that there are quite a few very intelligent people here, who see you for what you really are, and there are also a few here that are just like you, and you all seem to stick together.

I’m 72 and I bought 12 cars , 1 here  , none of

them ordered. All test driven for comfort, I have long legs , I’d be 

very disappointed if  it didn’t fit comfortably.

I've never encountered it previously (+20 years here and numerous cars), but when picking up a car recently they had the bow and fake flowers etc...   Wife and I wanted nothing to do with that, so asked the staff to remove them. 

 

They wanted 'their photo' so Wife reluctantly agreed after they agreed not to put anything on social media, not that its a big deal, but it just looks a big crass and showy to have photo taken like that with a new car - its just car.

When I was in Phuket years ago, I thought it must be normal for ladies to go to the shops in their PJs. I saw a Russian lady this last Christmas in a nice Malta hotel in her PJs at breakfast. Though in many of the 5 Star thermal hotels in Italy, it was normal to go to breakfast in your nice hotel dressing gown . I came  down dressed the 1 st day and felt quite the odd one out. 
Times are changing though since Covid I believe.  Now it’s posh “ lounge wear”.
