Is Lazada going out of business? At least they are telling you its out of stock. More annoying than that, is ordering something... (i.e. before Christmas or before a trip etc)... then looking again a few weeks later to find out the order has been cancelled by the vendor a week ago and its now too late to order from elsewhere. ... This has happened to me a number of times now... Another one is the 'bait and switch'... With a supplier cancelling the order... but 'other vendors' have the exactly the same item (exactly the same photos) for a higher price and it becomes obvious they are gaming the system. 1 1 1
Popular Post CharlieH Posted Wednesday at 11:05 AM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 11:05 AM It isn't "Lazada" that gets out of stock of anything; they are just the middleman and delivery coordinators. The merchants using the platform are the ones going "out of stock." I actually find it refreshing that some are telling it like it is and not selling from stock they actually haven't even bought yet! Of course, it is also an automated stock control for the sellers, depending on if they enter how many they actually have when they listed it. 1 1 1
Popular Post petermik Posted Wednesday at 11:13 AM Popular Post Posted Wednesday at 11:13 AM It,s a glitch in their website been going on for nearly a week....click the refresh button a few times and the pricing comes up.....usually anyhow LOL 2 5
DogNo1 Posted Wednesday at 11:21 AM Posted Wednesday at 11:21 AM Sometimes the same vendor lists the identical item for a higher price. 3

I thought it was due to my VPN... refreshing the screen worked. 2 1

GammaGlobulin Posted Wednesday at 03:45 PM Posted Wednesday at 03:45 PM Just buy from Amazon, USA. The gov there enforces rules and regulations that minimize problems for consumers. I would happily pay the increased import duty, and buy from Amazon, rather than to buy from Lazada, and encounter the problems that I have experienced in the past. Also, Amazon will give me free shipping to Thailand, from the USA. Some items are just super high on import duty, and then....the best option is to just not buy. I hope to become a semi-minimalist, just by restricting my buying to Amazon, and also only those items that are free delivery, and also not super-high import duty. 1
GammaGlobulin Posted Wednesday at 04:25 PM Posted Wednesday at 04:25 PM In my view, after buying from local online stores and also from Amazon USA: Just for peace of mind....and from this perspective alone.... a. I would FAR prefer to pay more, in some cases (due to import duty), and buy from Amazon USA. b. When I buy from Amazon, everything works well, and the site is very well designed, and I know what to expect, and I get great support. c. For me, I am willing to pay more for the superior service and better products, and reliability of delivery, that I have come to expect from Amazon USA. d. You just gotta ask yourself: What is your time worth? AND, what is the avoidance of undue and unnecessary stress worth to you? e. I am SICK AND TIRED of buying from the Lazada and Shopee sites. They need to UP THEIR GAME before they entice me back into their fold. f. For some items, ordered from Amazon, the import duty is out of sight. In this case, then just do not buy. And do without. g. Example: Bed sheets. Ordering bed sheets form Amazon USA incurs a very hefty import duty. (But, then, if you know someone in China, then they can hand-carry high quality cotton bed sheets, on their next return trip to Thailand, if they happen to have extra space in their luggage, and if they happen to be good friends. h. Just, by all means, avoid buying garbage. The more garbage we buy, the more we encourage the importers to import garbage. 2
FolkGuitar Posted Thursday at 12:49 AM Posted Thursday at 12:49 AM It's just a computer glitch. If you refresh the page a few times, the 'Out of Stock' message disappears and the price shows up. This does NOT seem to be the case for many grocery items from Italy, which have been out of stock in all the supermarkets for the past 6 months! 1
mstevens Posted Thursday at 05:12 PM Posted Thursday at 05:12 PM It might not be the case in this instance with the items you were looking at, but often an item is listed as out of stock because if the vendor removes the article from Lazada, then all of the (hopefully positive) reviews are lost. Vendors will often keep products listed, even if not presently available / out of stock, while they are waiting for new stock from their supplier. That way they retain the positive reviews. 1
7euner Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago Everytime I read about online shopping in here - it is always Lazada. I have never used Lazada, but use Shoppee, and I never have a problem. What am I missing - is Lazada a better platform? Btw - there are "fake" shops on Shoppee, but it only takes a few seconds to spot them. Dont know if this is the same on Lazada! 1
The Old Bull Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I think it's a problem with the site, maybe adds have to be manually removed. The system should automatically delete the ads when the last item is sold. My biggest problem is with the refund system, it goes into some kind of wallet that you need a degree in computer science to figure out.

I think some people have a problem logging in or creating an account with shoppee. Or perhaps the UI isn't quite so smooth.

Totally agree. I've complained about this to lazada. It's happened to me four times in the last month. They promise to deliver hoping they can stock it in time to ship to you but when they can't either they or lazada cancel. Stores stock as little as possible taking a gamble with my time and lose nothing when they cancel. Lazada should fine them if they do this repeatedly. And yes the same vendor floods the site with many stores using slightly different names while being clearly the same store. I have to wade thru them to find an actual valid competitor. Personally I think it's all down to slower delivery from China. It's becoming more difficult to find vendors who don't ship from China. For many items one has no choice.
seajae Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago I went in yestreday to get something and as usual it was out of stock so I refreshed a couple of times and got it(no longer out of stock), must be a glitch with their software
