I can't stand the smell of the Terminal 21 food court. I remember buying a chicken green curry there. It was cheap all right. No meat in it to speak of, only grisle, bone and skin, beerk!

Bad mood today? There is more than one vendor selling Green Chicken Curry and I cannot say that I've ever suffered an issue such as yours.

Where do you detect this smell? On entry? Somewhere in the middle of all of the food vendors or in the seating area?

Many moons ago, best Food court was in Royal Garden. Top floor with a terrace overlooking Pattaya Bay. I went one time to Central Festival Food Court shortly after they opend. At the pizza station I did see a cockroach crawling over the pizza. Turned around and have never set a foot into the food court there. I am not a big fan of eating in a underground place anyway.

Just the overall smell of the place. A dishwater smell.

one has to eat reasonable decent proper cooked food,   not Thai slop but proper Thai or Western food.

the problem with Thai food is there's only a handful of dishes that are edible.

I'd much prefer a fresh ham & salad sandwich to Thai food or a decent chicken burger and chips.

The bread is necessary to soak up the copious amount of beer you imbibe.

Lots of different good local meals out there. The quality depends on who is preparing them. If you were able to cook you would need to eat other people's slop. But you likely cannot cook. Sandwiches and burger and chips says it all. That's decent food to you.

That wasn't the answer I was looking for 😀

Not trying to harangue you, I was just looking for a valid reason for your disdain.

Inadequate budget would be an acceptable reason.......

You expect people to only give the answers you want to hear, that is odd.

Could put it  another way than the budget, and say it is overpriced maybe?

Is that the decent food to which you were referring?

Let's leave that aside for the moment.

Which are the edible Thai dishes in your view?

I would avoid chicken and shrimp on that plate. The rest looks ok.

I think thai green curry is ok in a restaurant, Tom kha Gai is ok,  chicken with cashew is quite tasty, Paneng moo is good,  even just shrimp fried rice if it's cooked properly,  Pad Thai can be ok if done right.

anyway, that's enough of that because I know you know everything so lets just agree and leave it at that. :guitar:

Not at all. Just interested in what you thought of as slop. Seems that you like Southern Thai food. That's already six dishes and I'm sure that you can come up with more. So your earlier description is somewhat unfair, don't you think?

You aren't picky then 😊

There's not even gravy with the pie, so just mushy peas and mashed potato. Dry and unappetising.

There's a distinct lack of seasoning in the chicken meal....and is he on some kind of meat rationing? What's with the baby drumstick?

I'm guess that's perhaps a Tom Kha Gung at the top...

Maybe 5% of market food looks slightly edible,   if it's hot and made fresh.

I don't care what you think   .....  It's no longer open for any discussion.

you can eat the market slop or anything you like ..

I'll enjoy my chicken burger.

thanks.

The thread is with concern to food courts, not markets.

Everyone has their own opinion about what is edible or perhaps even appetising. I wouldn't order what was on your plate in a restaurant. On the other hand I'm not being forced to eat it either. Similarly with food at markets. No need for you to eat it and no need for you to be so ungracious.

Terminal21 has best food court

IF you can find a seat and don't mind standing in long lines during peak times.

Festival food court is way overpriced, a few years ago you could get a lot of food for 100 baht, now you need to pay  double.

Terminal 21 still cheap.   But very crowded during high season.
