Has Elon Musk become an existential threat to humanity?

I think you can comment on Musk's intelligence and skills once you manage to reach your first billion. You misinterpreted his effort to help in the caves, because you hate him, as many others did. You're giving your biased spin on the story. Everyone has outbursts on occasion, his opponent deserved it at that time. His opponent wanted fame, Musk was only interested in helping.

So, did you make your first billion already? Or what qualifies you to see the situation so much clearer than others?

A decent person will never call anybody else a pedophile unless he is sure that that person is actually a pedophile.

He could have called the other guy stupid or idiot or anything like that. He didn't. Musk decided to use that word which can ruin peoples live.

It seems this forum has a lot of Musk haters. I noted that during the Cave Incident in June-July 2018. At that time Musk wasn't anywhere near the world's wealthiest, with a mere $20 billion to his name.

The turning point was July 2024, when he committed the one crime this forum's users are incapable of forgiving.

Who would you rely on to hear about things like U.K. grooming gangs if you don’t want to hear from the people you mention? Isn’t that the base of personal learning and development ? Do you only ever listen to who you judge to be “specialist ”?

Doesn’t like that “too many people listen to them”….listen to folk he doesn’t like.

Doesn’t want to hear ideas and arguments that he doesn’t personally like?

That leaves….?

😉

I listen i.e. to Rory Stewart. He is an expert about the UK (politics).

And I hear or read also arguments also from other people and sources.

Don't be ridiculous. Vernon Unsworth put his life at risk to help save those boys, for no payment, just because he felt it was the right thing to do. To say he wanted fame is absolutely disgusting, and also an insult to the memories of Saman Kunam and Beirut Pakbara who not only risked their lives but gave them.

In the pecking order of trolls you really need to be trying much harder....you are way down the league table.....Man City-ish.

First, you gave the much-used trolls "Is English your first language" insult.

Then you named me a troll, not addressing the nonsense you posted, but attacking me in a personal way.

I would suggest you're the troll, posting an average of over 11 posts a day vs my under 2 per day average. I'm not here often and people (trolls) like you are one of the reasons. I see you live in the heart of Northern Isaan. It must be a very boring place, living on a farm. You have nothing better to do.

People saw it in different ways, you said your piece, I said mine, both opinions.

Another attempt at trolling (and baiting), and you're the one complaining that I'm a troll. I suppose unless you get the last word, you'll continue this discourse forever.

With a bit of luck he'll make it to Mars and leave the rest of us in peace.

It means you don't have the qualifications to make a sound judgement of Musk's intelligence. That's still my opinion no matter how weird it seems to you.

Nothing wrong with living on a farm in Isaan, posting on AN and living on a farm does keep you out of the girlie bars though much to the delight of my misses hahaha

It really is just around the corner.

Outliers, I don't think Trump or Musk have the absolute power that the people you mentioned had. Trump is already mentally compromised and Musk will run himself into the ground, he is, I believe, autistic and his behaviour is getting weirder by the day.

He says he has Aspergers syndrome, which, if you ask today's mental health professionals, is an outdated term. Now, they consider it as just another part of the Autism spectrum,

My IQ was tested in an hour-long IQ test. I don't know how much money the people who made that test had, but likely less than a billion.

If you think only a billionaire is qualified to judge over an IQ that tells us something about your IQ - and not really anything good.

No, but he may have become an existential threat to the scores of Pakistani Muslim rape gangs in the UK; and for that alone I will be forever grateful.

He's ruined twitter.

It's full of bots and racists now.

Fully controlling of an algorythm that is hateful.

I actually looked at a Tesla, but i associate it with hate and him these days, so no thanks

One of many American oligarchs,as Jeff Bezos and Mark Zuckerberg as well, threatened by Donald "little Putin" Trump to loyalty, or at least not to criticize the new "system". The US is increasingly resembling the Russian autocracy.

Why should the Martians have to suffer?

They have never done us any harm!

Even if you assume all that, what's the alternative?  A brainwashed fact checker?   People will figure it out.  The town square. All sort of nuts, and yet life goes on. That's reality.

Have you ever lived in NYC?  Ever been to the heart of Manhattan?  All sorts of nuts, on every street corner.  Some have microphones and amplifiers. They'll tell you about  Jesus, or the end of the world, or the evils of capitalism. They spew nonsense 4/7. And yet most people pay no attention.  They just walk on by.  And life goes on.  The crazy people  are no danger to anyone.  What's the real danger? People who want to shut down free speech because they think they know what's best. Those are the dangerous people.

A group of crazy, eccentric individuals on the streets of Manhattan, ignored by everyone, cannot be compared to sophisticated disinformation presented through well-designed digital media on Twitt-X.

I don’t think Sam Harris is a typical leftist. When I quoted his statement that “Islam is the mother lode of bad ideas” in an argument with my severely Woke sister, she was outraged, and called him the most evil man alive. She was then confused when I pointed out that Harris was also the harshest critic of Trump I had ever heard, and I’m sure she’d also thoroughly approve of this article on Musk. I disagree with lots that Harris says, including his over-the-top attacks on Trump and Musk, but recognise that unlike the typical Woke leftist, he doesn’t follow an ideology, and looks at each issue on its merits.

Although he might not be as famous as a Musk, he’s very well known as one of the 4 most prominent of the “‘new atheists”.

People attacking Sam Harris throughout this topic are just another common case of killing the messenger. Personally, I know very little about him, nor do I really care who he is. It's what he wrote about Musk so pointedly that was relevant and why I created this topic. It could have been written by my dog and it would have been equally relevant. This topic is about Musk and not Harris. But as usual, people quickly digress, race to the lowest common denominator and/or decisive politics, and immediately lose sight of the goal post.

However, for those who insist on focusing on Harris, he is an American author, philosopher, neuroscientist, and podcast host known for his work on topics such as philosophy, religion, neuroscience, and ethics. He is also one of the leading figures associated with the “New Atheism” movement, alongside thinkers like Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Daniel Dennett. Harris gained prominence with his 2004 book, “The End of Faith”, which critiques organized religion and advocates for a rational and scientific approach to understanding morality and the world.

Well designed? LOL. It's humanity taking. Free speech.  Community notes.  People aren't as stupid as you seem to think they are.

This is also an interesting video about the guy who supposedly knows everything...

Oh look, a really brainy poster has told us that anyone of a different opinion to his, is brainless; how edifying, your lack of self awareness is staggering.

I would have to politely disagree. They did send us that oversized, geriatric, senile, diaper-wearing, angry-orange sweat ball. Maybe they didn't intend to do it with total malice, but they did create a cult of incurable nutters.

To be fair, I also don't know everything about my father.

And nobody should be judged because their father misbehaved.
