Yagoda, If I ever get involved in a game of wits with you, I'll check mine at the door so we can start out even.

A Trump pot head -really only found in SEA and dumps like Alabama.

Pace yourself in the outrage race; you people are going to have a very long 4 years.

Making it personal like you're doing here is just another way of showing that you've got nothing.

I have said since day 1 to everyone supporting trump he's a POS so don't act like you suddenly proved something I was hiding.  Thats not gas lighting like you've done.

I didn't claim you were hiding your seething hatred towards President Trump. I claimed your original statement in this topic was disingenuous.

Let's recap:

In this topic, you made a statement about Trump's trustworthiness, thinly veiled as proposing an action item for his supporters (to keep track of his promises and compare later). I saw through your disingenuousness, and ever since then you've been attempting -- via deflection and gaslighting -- to pretend your statement wasn't actually a swipe at President Trump.

But the actual result has been to shed even more light on the disingenuousness of your original statement, due to your ever less veiled swipes at President Trump providing ample context about your motivations.

As I said your conversation with me on this is done.

Apparently not, because you keep extending said conversation.

The presidential candidate I voted for and wanted to see elected is now in office, and has started to fulfill his campaign promises. While it's true Rome wasn't built in a day -- there's a lot more work to be done! -- even after just a few days I've got a lot more than "nothing".

On the other hand, people who continue to invest their energies into hating President Trump really do have "nothing". For at least the next 2 years (until the midterms), Trump's opposition is out of power, and rather definitively at that.

Not sifting through all the rubble in this thread. Trump talked about tariffs in Davos today. Links are broken but you can check on any news site in the world.

More B,S. for the gullible! It's American businesses and consumers who will pay tariffs! 😆

I think we will trust mr world peace and prosperity who is proved correct every time, over someone who has been on the wrong side of every issue. If Trump says we need tariffs, then bring them on

It is worrying that the left are melting down because wars around the world are facing a negotiated end(which Biden was unable to do). Peace is bad now? modern lefties are a world away from the proper Haight-Ashbury flowers in their hair anti war left.

It really would be amazing. Unemployment is already low in the United States. Where are the workers going to come from?  Will these companies be shipping them over, too?

Like lowering grocery prices?

Like reining in the H-1B visa abuses?

Like putting a stop to the war in ukraine on day one of his adminstration

How exactly will imposing  tariffs lower inflation?

How will ridding the country of undocumented aliens lower inflation?

Did you see that he is now demanding that other countries lower their interest rates?

He also asked OPEC members to lower their asking price  for oil. While at the same time he's pushing for more drilling in America.

As for people" investing therir energies into hating President Trump"...they're investing their energies into opposing Trump. Given that Trump is constantly saying hateful things, why is it puzzling to you that he's hated? And what do suppose the people who were calling Biden the most corrupt President in US history doing? Engaging in a love-in?  As for Trump being in power "rather definitively" whatever that means... The Republican majority in the House is tenuous. Let's see how that plays out when it comes to legislation.

And as for having nothing, people like you who answer facts with irrelevantl comments about the alleged emotional states of people they disagree with, truly do have nothing.

Criticizing President Trump and the administration's supposed lack of achievement after ~5 days, based on a precise literal interpretation of every single word of every single campaign promise, is just thinly veiled dogmatism. It's transparent and silly.

Repeating that I have "nothing" is projection. I have a large pile of executive orders that set the tone for the Trump administration. Some of those (like ending birthright citizenship) are destined for SCOTUS, but just putting that on the table is a YUGE win which demonstrates the America First mentality I voted for. Same for the deportations that have already begun, the talk of an External Revenue Service, aligning US policy so that it favors our actual friends, etc. From my perspective we're winning already -- bigly. Some of those issues and wins are emotional in nature, some practical. I'm good with that.

I really don't care at the moment what (for example) rounding up illegals and deporting them does to the economy. The economy is already so bloated and distorted that it's completely impossible to foresee the impact on various Trump policies on it; clinging to "Orange Man Bad!" because of some supposed impact that cannot be foreseen requires Kreskin-level soothsaying that none of us possess.

I am exuberant that the US electorate chased the commie deconstructionists out of federal power. This is a unique and awesome moment in American history. You and others may not like it; this may be out of hatred for Trump/MAGA, it may be because supposedly genius-level armchair statesmen predictions aren't being recognized, or who knows what other reasons. Too bad!

You ignore that several of my points are about his reversals.

He promised to lower grocery prices during the campaign, but now admits that it's unlikely to happen.

He harshly criticized the H-1B program but now claims he loves it.

He hasn't put a halt to the Ukraine war despite his claim that he could do it on the first day he took office.

And it's very convenient for you to ignore the obvious negative impact his proposals will have on the economy by claiming that the effects are unknowable.
