The Lieutenant is a comedian. What reputation?

A 26-year-old French man has been arrested in Bangkok for posting explicit videos of intimate encounters with Thai women on social media, police announced.

The suspect, referred to only as Mr. K, was detained at his condominium in the Chatuchak district following a raid by officers from the Immigration Bureau’s Investigation Division. The search, authorised by a warrant from the Northern Bangkok Criminal Court, uncovered electronic recording devices, adult items and toys.

Police Colonel Jirapong Rujidarongchai, who led the investigation, revealed that authorities had received intelligence regarding a foreign national allegedly sharing explicit materials online and using social media to solicit sexual encounters.

When confronted with video evidence, Mr. K admitted to being the individual in the recordings. He claimed his actions were a result of youthful indiscretion and insisted he had stopped these activities over a year ago. However, Police Lieutenant General Chairit Anurit, commander of Immigration Division 3, dismissed this explanation, stating: “The offense had already been committed. Digital footprints cannot be erased, and ignorance of the law is no excuse.”

Mr. K now faces charges under Thailand’s computer crime laws for uploading and distributing obscene data, as well as charges relating to the production and dissemination of explicit content.

Lieutenant General Chairit condemned the suspect’s actions as a threat to public morality and an embarrassment to Thailand’s reputation. He noted that the case is particularly troubling as some women involved were unaware they had been filmed or that the footage had been shared online.

Authorities have urged potential victims to contact the Immigration Bureau’s Investigation Division for legal assistance.

“This case is a silent threat to society. It shows that while someone may claim to stop such behaviour, the damage has already been done,” Lieutenant General Chairit added.

Aaaah , great times, just like America ; criminals run politics and decide what democracy and human rights mean, bloody horror and action movies are standard and good for kids while tits are absolutely taboo, a vibrator is only allowed in the car seat and porn is forbidden and threatened with jail terms and anything except vanilla sex considered abnormal(reminds one of Franco's catholic Spain). Not to forget the legal establishments of 24 hour hotels for a quick sandwich in literally every block , known only to the locals.  The high birth rate with underage girls speaks for itself . No worries, there are still a few sqm left somewhere on the planet.

I hope he realizes that where he is going is not the French Riviera ....that boy is in for some serious hard time.

Enjoy!

Hmmm, again, why does America come into this discussion?  Leave us alone please.  Try picking on Russia or some other country...no Americans were involved with this creep.

Throw the book at the creep.

Agreed! I'm sick and tired of these predators who think they can come here and sexually exploit women. Let’s see how long they’d last trying that in their own countries!

Sounds like he did secret tapings of their sessions and then indiscriminately decided to post them. This violates a woman's right to privacy and this man deserves to be treated as a criminal, and such an act warrants time in prison.

Where, hopefully, he'll learn how to not behave like a complete fool and how to show some respect to the women who he sleeps with.

Is it just me that sees screwed up priorities here - the fact that the women were unaware and that they were posted online SHOULD be (by far and away) the most important element in this story.

Were they really unaware, or did they change their mind (and their story)?

Wouldn't be the first time in the history of the world that a woman took money for an act, then denied it when it became public.

A raid by the cops or a knock on the door?

That poster clearly posted exactly what I quoted.  It was not reported that "some were unaware, but that could be to save themselves", as you now also claim!

I didn't claim that, stop making things up about what people post, as it is against forum rules.

What I said is that the part but that could be to save themselves", clearly was the personal opinion of the poster which you replied to.

When I say clearly, of course I mean, clear to everyone on this forum that has an IQ higher than 2 digits.

The scholars of literature among us can enjoy the irony of the suspect called Mr K., being accused of committing the suitably vague quasi-crime of loss of face.

Impressed by the size, maybe even envious?

Judging by his photo, one might reasonably pose the question:

What's so Special about Mr. K?

Other than....

He seems rather scrawny.

Furthermore:

Maybe too bony, as well.

Quote here exactly what you claim that I have "made up" simply by my quoting other posters exact words!    As you said (but I don't believe that it is factual), "making things up about what people post ... is against forum rules"!   That "rule" should apply to you also, surely?

Gosh a bunch of cops with bullet proof vests. They really don’t want to take any risks. 🤢

They're stab vests and that RTP equipment is no different from the same standard-equipment stab vests that most police in your country probably wear.   Gosh.

Not to compare this to US/Western style legal structures, but the amateur legal eagle in me is curious - in Thai law, what exactly defines "secret" recording and "consensual" filming and how is it proven?  The type of equipment used? Filming angle? Written waivers?

A couple could, for example, take pics/vids of each other in the act holding their cell phones at each others faces, and in the corner of the room there could at the same time be a hidden spy cam (that one party may or may not have agree to).

And what defines "social media" in this regard? Does sharing a consensually taken pic/vid on a Line message with mate break the law? Or sharing it in a group chat?

Did he post it for commercial purposes (like on Xhamster or OF for example)?

Under Thai law, does the burden of proof heavily favor the accused or accuser/police in this respect?

Interesting stuff~

Your question is one that that clearly no one here can answer.

No one will ever actually know whether the women were really unaware, or whether they changed their story, other than the women themselves.

i did notice that the OP does not mention the Perpetrator claiming that he did it with the full knowledge and permission of the women. But neither does he admit doing without permission.

if he does confess, THEN you will have your answer.

Not sure about Thailand specifically, but google revenge porn and you will get a lot of information on other countries attitude to posting content without permission
