WISE just shut me down!
I logged into wise an hour ago and got a message saying they needed to update my address if I wanted to continue using the account. I live in Thailand use a Us address of my son who luckily has the same name as myself so I had him take photos of utility bills with his name and address which will show the same as mine. He forwarded them to me via email I went back into wise got the same message to verify. I clicked next and very quickly a message came up saying we have everything we need if we need more will let you know. Unsure why they asked me to verify and then told me they didn't need any more. -

EU Vows Strong Response to Trump’s Tariff Threats
I think these tariffs would increase prices on the goods imported into the USA. But, that does not make you have to buy those imported products. There has been unfair trading between the US and most countries for many years. All of these countries take advantage of the US. I also believe if the cost for imports is raised in the stores. That people in the US will see an opportunity to manufacture the same thing for cheaper causing a rippling effect on consumerism and increasing markets and jobs within the US itself. Noone forces you to buy something imported. It is a luxury the same as you do in Thailand. Noone complains the cost of things they buy at Villa Market or the other foreigner stores. The people in the US will have to adjust. In the meantime, Trump is also correct about the deficit and the need to reduce it. -

Ratchaburi: Elderly Man Killed After Collision with Car
Pictures from responders. A collision occurred on the morning of February 3 when a young man driving a car collided with the rear of a sidecar motorcycle, causing a 72-year-old man to fall into a canal and lose his life. At around 08:30 police were notified of the incident on Phetchakasem Road, heading towards Bangkok, in Ban Khong, Photharam District, Ratchaburi. Authorities, including officers from Photharam Police Station, local rescue teams, and a hospital doctor, arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. The victim, identified as 72-year-old Noo Meunsang, had been riding a sidecar motorcycle, collecting scrap materials for sale. His body was found by the roadside, after being pulled from the water, suffering injuries to his head and right leg, and he was declared dead at the scene. A white Toyota Velos SUV was found crashed into a tree nearby, with the driver, 33-year-old Surasak from Bang Pae, Ratchaburi, sustaining only minor injuries. He was subsequently treated at Photharam Hospital. In the nearby canal, emergency responders found the sidecar motorcycle submerged, with remnants of metal, a broken bicycle, and plastic bottles floating in the water. Initial investigations suggest that the young driver, who was trailing the sidecar, failed to brake in time after the motorcycle slowed down and collided with the rear of the vehicle. This caused the sidecar to be knocked into the canal, leading to the elderly man’s death. The police are continuing their investigation into the cause of the collision. Meanwhile, the body of the deceased has been sent for an autopsy before being handed over to the family. -- 2025-02-04 -

Pee-ce treaty: Foreigners demand more loos after Phuket public urination uproar
Ever walked down Soi 9 in Sukhumvit? It's a rear laneway for the businesses in Soi 7/1. All the vendors from Sukhumvit road go there to urinate ... It's the same by the canal paths in Bangkok and Chiang Mai and no doubt other places in Thailand. Let's not get emotive and blame the tourists.
