In all honesty all the neighboring countries are equally guilty. That's why the situation is favourable to all of them to fingerpoint the others and just hide their heads to sand without doing anything than talk

Even now, the blue line from Bang Sue into Asok is always very crowded, not only at peak times. I use it at around ten thirty in the morning, a couple of days a week, and it is very full even then. Peak hour outward from Asok and everyone is packed in like sardines like you said, simply cannot board some trains. The Red Line isn't as crowded, but in peak hour there are no longer spare seats since they started the twenty baht fare promotion, which I guess is a good thing.

 

The reading in northern Bangkok near me right now is 205, but I'm hoping it improves so I can venture out. At times you can smell smoke in the air. I have developed a terrible cough, so I wear an N95 mask every time I walk out the door, it's causing real health issues for me at the moment.

The best they could come up was that everyone should take necessary precautions, whatever that may be. What they are implying is If your health is advesely affected, its all your fault. It's your responsibility to move away from Bangkok, no one asked you to move there. Pollution is away of life in Bangkok and everyone should get used to it. If not, move out. End of. Sorry, not end of. Before you leave Bangkok, don't forget to tell your friends how great the city is and how much the city has to offer (TAT suggestion).

 

 

Last night, at about 11:00 pm, Pattaya was giving Bangkok a run for its money with IQAir showing 179 here.

Their suggestion that people should be encouraged to work from home is asinine. If that were possible, the city would ground to a halt, not to mention most people would not be getting any pay.

Isn't it just a matter of waiting for the next one... I've had to wait for the next train before, but you can still get on a train.

Pattaya has places near the beach with just as high readings as Bangkok. It was very hazy this morning.

It's not dumb coming for a one or two-week holiday, even with high readings. Tourists normally can't choose when to travel and In most cases would be unaware of the air pollution problems.

 

I don't have any health ailments resulting from the high levels, and I do intense exercise most days. I don't notice it at all. What's the point of worrying about it? Most of us are old anyway and soon to expire LOL.

While it certainly does seem that way when living amongst it just google "average IQ in sub Saharan Africa " to understand how bad it can get! 

Isn't this is what ASEAN is for, to solve the problems of the region.

I would wholeheartedly agree.....but....... many of the tourist "types' headed here for two or three weeks could not careless about AQ.....they have their minds fixed on much loftier things.

Yesterday in Bangkok about 300 schools were closed. So kids got a chance enjoy Bangkok's smog at home playing their phones and tablets.

Think again - almost all schools. That's hulluva crowd of pupils, isn't?

That's actually the latest eco trend...

Bamboo thatched huts with no AC. You just open the windows and use mosquito net.  Doesn't work if there's no wind.  Super hot.  I think some of these eco huts don't even have fans.

Truth s, it has been 200 to 400 everywhere in Bangkok, near my house it was 270-290 every day during the morning, then it lowers to 150-180 in the middle of the day.

 

Already much improved although stronger winds seems to avoid Bangkok.
